I'm using Mail (current version 2.0.8) and am generally happy with it -
especially the integration of X.509 or PGP signature/encryption is nice.
Now: In Eudora it was easy to set the request for a delivery
report/answer request. How do I do that in Mail?

I converted a dvr-ms file to mpeg using a PC-only conversion program
but the resulting mpeg file wouldn't run on quicktime (on my 15"
powerbook, 1.25 GHz, 10.4.6). The helpful people here pointed me to an
app called vlc which will play an mpeg file with that codec on a mac.

Using Network Browser on a G3 under MacOS 8.6, I access my G4 running
under OSX "Panther".
NB finds the G4 drive and opens it.
The window is empty, and the info bar says "0 items".

I have a AGP G4 powermac, 533mHz, running OS 9.1. And when I go into
the sound control panel, I have no sound input options apart from CD.
The "onboard" sound doesn't show up.
I have tried....

I had to reinstall OSX 10.4 recently. Before doing so I saved all the
important files (or so i hope) to my external hard disk first.
I want to know the following please
1. Where do i locate my old Safari 2.0.3 bookmarks and how do i reload

I am using OSX 10.4.6 Tiger. I had to wipe my hard disk because I had a
problem. I saved my Library folder from my users folder.
I have tried to reinstate all my previous preferences (safari
bookmarks, mail folders & emails) by copying the folders back across to

I'm new to web development on local drive. I'd like to know any handy
way to handle files whose name starts with *dot*. They are by default
invisible on Finder. I'm looking for a way via GUI not Terminal.

I am using faxstf X on my mac mini, os X.
I can send just fine.
When I receive, I only get the first page. the KB's it shows for the fax
is enough for two pages, and it says I have two pages, but I only see

How is the sound volume increased on the internal speakers of the iMac G5. I
occasionally listen
to some old 1940's radio programs and find the sound is sometime too low when
the program is playing.

I have been using iMovie and iDVD for about 5 years now and recently
upgraded to iDVD 6 and iMovie HD 6.
Until recently I have been archiving and backing up my iMovies manually

All,
I am using iPhoto5 on 10.3.9 and I am experincing a problem downloading
photos from my camera.  We are on vacation and are taking alot of
prictures.

when I look at a flash file in Safari and would like to save it so I can
look at it offline, how do I get hold of it?
I used to use a RISC-System where I could copy any swf files out of the
cache before I closed the browser which would delete it according to the
