Entourage Rule Not Working20 May 2006 04:10 GMT2
Of the /many/ Entourage rules (filters) that I have in place, some of
them quite complex, I have /one/ simple one that doesn't work.
The filter is as simple as can be. I have a correspondant named John
Doe. I have a mailbox named John Doe. His from line looks like this:
.eps files lose their preview when moved...20 May 2006 00:33 GMT5
This one seems fairly strange to me, so I'm hoping someone out there
has seen it - I support two users who use Mac OS 10.3 (Panther) in a
Windows network. As suspected, these two handle the graphical area of
the business, so they work with many different graphics formats. The
Terminal Window Size19 May 2006 15:46 GMT2
Hi.  I use Terminal.app quite frequently, and I like to keep the
columns at 80, but sometimes I want the terminal to have more rows.
Is there a way to get the window to keep from accidentally going more
wide while I drag the corner down?  I've currently been moving the
Does spotlight search all content19 May 2006 14:52 GMT1
Is anybody able to comment on exactly what spotlight searches. I am only
interested in a quality filename search and a genuine full text search,
just like google.
Some of apples previous search engines technologies only indexed the
Google prefs change?19 May 2006 14:37 GMT1
Google suddenly changed it's prefs to open a new window every time I
click on a result. This was annoying, and I absolutely didn't do it (and
I'm the only user of this account). I don't think I've ever visited the
preferences window before, and I'm lucky I'm smart enough to know ...
(semi-) OT: Reading a Toast CD image on a PC19 May 2006 09:44 GMT5
Does anyone know how to make it readable or convert it on a PC?
I've tried UltraISO, CDmage, IsoBuster, MacDrive, and TransMac.
IsoBuster shows the session layout but does not recognise the file
system (HFS). I can make a raw dump of the image, but that doesn't
Bookends and Mellel19 May 2006 05:20 GMT10
I'm not happy with my WP software (Nisus, very buggy, constantly losing
formatting and crashes whenever I do something even vaguely complicated
with footnotes) and am looking at Mellel, which has the advantage of
dealing efficiently with references, using Bookends. But testing
Question on Booting w/ 2 systems19 May 2006 00:35 GMT3
I just bought a MacBook pro and have a friend who
has a 450 mghrz Mac that has problems
reading discs. I believe the OS is Jaguar
or maybe Panther.
Fink or Darwinports?18 May 2006 21:37 GMT2
I'm new to command-line tools, and I'm interested in Fink and
Darwinports. I did a bit of search on the net, but can you quickly tell
me the difference between the two? If my understanding is correct, both
are the installers of open source software. Do you suggest installing
Convert color-containing PDF documents to B&W (or gray)?18 May 2006 20:37 GMT11
Any way to convert (or Save) an existing color-containing PDF document
to B&W or gray scale, *after* document creation, from within Adobe
Acrobat 7 Standard? -- preferably in an easy single step.
(Documents are actually created by scanning, in a color scanner -- but I
Migrate G4 to G3 (10.4.6 to 10.3.9)18 May 2006 19:36 GMT6
Is anybody here knowledgable about Mac migrations?
I'm trying to transfer the programs, settings, and files on my iBook G4
(2005) with OS X 10.4.6 to an iMac G3 with 10.3.9. The iMac is refusing
to accept OS X upgrades beyond 10.3.9.

tiger search18 May 2006 07:20 GMT5
In either Spotlight or File Find in my Tiger on my QS 933, I am
lied to. I put in a name like webarchive (to get all my Safari
saved archives to display) and only one or two display. No there
are no more "that can be displayed". Under "contains name", the
Journalist seeks iTunes users18 May 2006 05:18 GMT7
I'm looking for people who buy music on iTunes, to get their view of
Urge, the new online music service being offered by MTV and Microsoft.
Will you have the urge to check it out, or will you resist?  Are you
loyal to iTunes, or do you just want the best place to buy good music?
Real Player and ffmpegX18 May 2006 03:12 GMT4
Is there a way to get ffmpegX to make an iPod movie of a RealPlayer
video that is coming from the net?  ------- I have RealPlayer 10 and am
running it on the latest version of Mac OS X.  ------ Here are the
videos from the edge.org that I would like to capture and transfer to
