I'm a photographer using my mac (OS X 10.4.6) for managing (iPhoto)
editing (GIMP), and printing (iPhoto or Preview)) photographs.
Having become aware that my prints (Eposon R800) were not matching what

MacSoup Scripting31 May 2006 19:00 GMT7
Trying to write a script to allow MacSoup to automatically connect (5
minute intervals) and collect new posts, but my scripting skills are
umm... rudimentary.
Anyone know of a script to do this?

I have a friend running an iMac under OS9.2.   In my world of Windows, I use

Quick question about downloading and installing software......30 May 2006 18:30 GMT7
I  recently bought a used Mac from a friend. The Mac is a G3 IMac 500
MHz, 384 ram, 20 gig Hd, CDRW with OSX 10.0.4. I know its not the
latest OSX version and I plan to purchase 10.3 or 10.4 in the very near
future but I have question in the mean time. On all the software that I
Emacs, MacOS X and ISO Latin 130 May 2006 14:53 GMT10
The built-in emacs in MacOS X only supports 7-bit ascii characters. I
know that it should be possible to support Western European chars like
œ, ö and ø by placing certain commands in the .emacs file, but how?
And if it shoudl be done in such a way that it will be the default for
Netscape freezes in OS 10.3.930 May 2006 09:22 GMT1
Using Netscape 7.2 in Mac OS 10.3.9 on an Airport connection to DSL,
I've begun encountering lengthy periods of either no response (no web
page appears) or an apparently endless spinning beach ball.  If I wait
long enough, they sometimes lead to a dialog box which says
WTB: Print Shop 1.0 for Mac (the original 1986 version)30 May 2006 06:44 GMT3
I would like to buy or trade for the original Print Ship 1.0 / 1.1 for
Macintosh - the original version from around 1986.
I do not want the horrible nasty version from the mid 1990s, nor do I
want a version for Mac OS X.

I'm not sure, if this is the right group or not...
I've just ordered 2 new Dual G4/1,8ghz GigaDesigns processors in the US
for 2 of my G4 machines. By this I get a dual processor too much.
I've seen that some of the processors from both Sonnet, Mercury and
iTunes to iMovie30 May 2006 00:56 GMT8
I am trying to import a song (purchased on the web site) from iTunes
6.04 to iMovie 3.03 (the first time I've tried to do this). The clip
visually seems to import, but there is no sound when I play the movie.
I have QuickTime player 7.1, OS 10.3.9. If I try to convert to AIFF via

WeatherManX29 May 2006 19:13 GMT1
I¹m using the current version of WeatherManX, my system is a G4/800 DT,
running 10.4.6.  I¹m using a cable modem and an Asante router.
When WeatherManX fetches the weather info, it does not get any
forecasts.  There is a red line in the progress bar when it updates.
Keynote29 May 2006 15:08 GMT9
I have a Keynote presentation I would like to make available to other
people over the web.
Easy.... BUT what if I want to tape the audio comments and make them
also available together with the presentation....  ?
Stupid question about colour printing29 May 2006 12:57 GMT11
How do I make things print out on my Epson R800 how they look on the screen?
I'm a photographer and am using iPhoto with GIMP for image editing.  I
generally save files as tifs and print them from preview (since GIMP
doesn't give me access to some important printer controls).
