I have a portrait-format document in TextEdit, thus 8.5 inches wide,
with the left margin at 1.25in and right margin at 7.25in.  I want to
narrow those margins to around 0.75in and 7.75in, respectively.  It
won't let me drag the margin marks any closer to the edges of the paper.

it in my WP 3.5E under ClassicOS (the open menu doesn't even show it,
although the other files on my desktop show), Mariner Write and BBEdit

Elements 3 made it clear it was a Windows program ...
