MS Word will not print page borders08 Feb 2006 19:43 GMT2
I recently relocated and am looking for a job.  I transferred all my resumes
from my floppies to a USB flash disk which would be better in my situation.
Unfortunately I am still using Office98 on my ibook G4 with Tiger.  Whenever
I print (and in this case I must print to a ps ...
"Diamond" auto-compressor for "classic" MacOS?08 Feb 2006 19:03 GMT2
I've been writing about various Mac compression utilities lately for
the wiki, and have come across a couple of mentions of something called
"Diamond" on TidBits. I've never heard of this program, and the TidBits
article is vague but seems to be suggesting it's a sort of background

Creating Dashboard Widgets Using PC08 Feb 2006 14:01 GMT3
I have an interesting situation, someone has asked me to create a
simple widget for the Mac dashboard (10.4.3 OS) but I don't really have
access to a computer with that OS. Since it's all HTML and .jss, do you
think it's possible to create it using a PC and have it work on Mac?
Mac the Ripper - in trouble?08 Feb 2006 04:46 GMT1
Version Tracker, at http://www.versiontracker.com/dyn/moreinfo/macosx/22715,
says:

External display for iMac (Intel Core Duo)08 Feb 2006 02:49 GMT1
Is there a way to use an external display of iMac (Intel Core Duo) as a
main monitor, which means that I'd like to see menu bar in the external
display and, possibly, turn off the display on the iMac.
Thx in advance.
Prevent Saving a Quicktime Movie?08 Feb 2006 01:42 GMT2
How can I let users view a quicktime movie I've posted to my website,
yet prevent them from saving it to their computer?  (Prevention of
unauthorized distribution of the content is the issue here).
Do I need a special server, (a streaming server, or whatever that is?)
WOW (WideOpenWest) Throttles P2P ?07 Feb 2006 21:26 GMT1
Hi, does anyone know or suspect their WOW-supplied cable modem (mine's
a Webstar DCX2100) of throttling (limiting) P2P download speeds?
There's a lot of chatter online about poor performance, for example 10
kbps top speeds even though I have WOW's 6 mbps service. I'm using a
Annoying Preview behavior on exit07 Feb 2006 21:09 GMT4
While most of the changes in the latest Preview are improvements
over the panther version (such as the automatic scaling when the
window is resized), there is one rather annoying new behavior:
When I tell it to exit, it always pops up a window asking me "Do you
iDVD question07 Feb 2006 18:48 GMT16
I'd like to create a plain vanilla DVD, with chapters, that can be
played without any menu navigation on the title page.
I'd like to be able to cue to a particular chapter without a monitor
simply by using the play button, the forward/back chapter buttons, and
Photoshop: maintaining paper size settings?07 Feb 2006 16:33 GMT4
In Photoshop, how can I maintain the Paper Size setting in page setup?
The paper size keeps changing, even though I keep saving the files with
custom paper sizes.

Where are Office toolbar settings saved?07 Feb 2006 11:10 GMT8
I'm setting up a couple of new Macs and for various good reasons am not
using Migration Assistant to move my existing user accounts over.
Most of the work is done now, but I'm having trouble finding where MS
Office X and Office 2004 save Word toolbar settings. Excel and
ITunes, created audio CDs, Hondas06 Feb 2006 20:07 GMT13
If this is the wrong place, point to the right place, please.
Why won't audio CDs created on my iBook (10.4.4) from iTunes files play
in my husband's 2003 Accord XL?  Is it something in the way I'm burning
them?  What?

The PC Usenet crowd has PowerPost 2000 for bulk posting of binaries.
Is there a good Mac equivalent that anyone has experience with and can
recommend?
