Apple Mail goes mute! Any suggestions?04 Jan 2006 02:29 GMT12
Apple's Mail (I'm running 10.4.2; Mail 2.0.2) loses it's sound output,
from time to time. If I quit-relaunch it comes back, but otherwise it's
annoying, because I lose my mail alerts. It's the same for the default
mail sound, as well as special 'rules' where I have particular sounds
AW6 to Word04 Jan 2006 01:41 GMT3
We have a new iBook and are editing a 40 page document in AW6. We need
to file out a copy in MSWord for PC. When "Saving as" document - Word
97-2000 the MacLinksPlus translator gets called and it creates a
document of about half the size - from 12Mb to about 6Mb. When I try to

CD Spin Doctor crashing -- alternative waveform editors for AIFFs?03 Jan 2006 22:15 GMT1
I am trying to run the most recent version of CD Spin Doctor (bundled with Toast
Titanium 7.0.2) on a G4 iBook running Tiger, with a gig of RAM.
Every time I try to play an AIFF, Spin Doctor crashes.
Any workarounds/fixes? Or beyond that, are there any other waveform editors for
Tiger Mail junk mail filtering performance03 Jan 2006 12:53 GMT5
With Tiger, I just moved from Entrourage to Mail. One thing I am
disappointed in is junk mail filtering. Entourage seemed to catch about
95% of the junk mail I received, while Mail seems to catch no more than
50% of it. This seems remarkably poor performance.
G5 iMac Rocked.  Now It's A Dog.03 Jan 2006 12:51 GMT5
I started using the G5 iMac in February.  Installed Classic, iLife 05
applications, Microsoft Office, a couple of other applications, and all
system and applications updates.  I repaired permissions after every
application installation or software update.  It has a 17 inch screen ...

How can I remove some Toolbar icons?03 Jan 2006 05:13 GMT6
I really only want wclock and wstock up there, because when I run
various programs they get squeezed out. I would rather have the chat,
network and phone icons dropped out. Can I do this?
Imovie 4.1 novice question...03 Jan 2006 00:05 GMT2
Hello. I have a little video that is out of sync with the audio. When I
import the movie into my Imovie it will not let me access the "extract
audio" function as well as others. It is grayed out. So...Do I have to
upgrade the Imovie of the Quicktime or something?

file? I'm talking here about yahoo messenger. Does any file contains
that information? How to read it?
cheers

open a .ARC file, but no clue where to actually download it. Where do I
find this vaporware?

Type modefier marks with keyboard02 Jan 2006 03:55 GMT1
I'd like to know how to type modifier key marks such as option,
command, shift, tab, delte..etc, which are often seen when describing

Is there a way to do that?
iMovie: why crop v cut, and then adding multiple chapter markers at the same time02 Jan 2006 02:56 GMT1
I am new to iMovie, and been spending some time on a "practice
project".
I have imported an MPEG4 home movie, which I am now editing.
A couple questions:
How to save Movies and sounds without Quicktime pro02 Jan 2006 01:48 GMT1
Back in the old days I could do this very easily.  But with fireFox I
cannot save these files to my hard disk without QuickTime pro.  Is there
a way around this?  I am out of work at the moment and cannot afford
QuickTime pro.  And besides I only scarcely need to save a sound or
