Installling Fink on OS 10.405 Dec 2005 19:39 GMT2
I am trying to install Fink on my iMac G5 running OS 10.4.3 with 1 gigbyte
HD.  Every time I attempt to install fink onto the HD I am a sked to indicate
which destination volume to install the Fink software.  I indicate the
Macintosh HD and I am told that "You cannot install Fink ...

As a fairly recent, and very happy,  convert to Mac I have been
disappointed to find that the tax software program (Tax Cut) I'd been
using on the PC doesn't seem to be available for Mac.
Has anyone found a good  Mac OS X program?

Last year the IRS made arrangements for the tax software companies to
have online versions of their software available for free.
The program started in 2003 and apparently is scheduled to be available
this year.

I've got a sawtooth and i'm trying to boot from a SATA drive off of a
PCI.  Every once in a while it works, but not always. I'm using 10.4.2
. Is this possible or do I have another problem?

I just started getting a message saying Unexpected error #-109 when
trying to open my palm desktop on a mac. It was working fine, than I
modified some things in my address book and memos. I can still sync and
my palm is working fine. Any suggestions? HELP!

When I launch Preview (or double click a PDF etc.) on my 10.4.3 system
the Finder seems to lauch the application, but nothing happens. It looks
like Preview is broken.
Is there an easy way to selectively reinstall that application from the

I saw some very reasonalby priced Philips DVD+R discs. Decided to
backup
my iTunes folder using Backup 3 to said DVDs. Keep gettng this message:
"There was a problem burning this disc. The media is not the right type

i have a dual 1.8 GHz power PC g5. a couple weeks ago twice the fan
kicked on loudly, someone told me it was a system chrash and to do some
maintenance, i zapped the PRAM and then i rebooted holding down

) as a remote for Keynote presentations? I would probably use a Palm
TX as my client.
How well does this work?
