| mystery error message in Apple "Pages" | 20 Nov 2005 19:26 GMT | 12 |
Recently I noticed (I don't use it much) that Pages will complain on startup loading a document that it can't find the Arial font. This is silly, since I use Arial in various apps all over the system, including NewOffice/J. Yet, Pages

Had so many problems using rsync or cp to make backups I am about to give up. Although less efficient I might be better to user AppleScipt to run Disk Utility to make disk images. Any Suggestions? I do not like Retrospect because everything is compressed into one file

| Palm Conduit manager quits | 20 Nov 2005 16:26 GMT | 9 |
I sync DateBook4 on a Palm m100 with Now Up-to-Date and Contact on a Mac running OS 10.4.3. It's all worked flawlessly for quite a while. I was having trouble with my Up-to-Date file: it wouldn't print properly, so I exported the data and imported them into a new calendar file which ...

My latest attempt to find a way to convert my off-air VHS recordings to digital form for archiving on DVD media has me close to tossing the buggy Miglia and going instead to a dedicated box like the Panasonic combination VCR/DVD recorder/player. The one I have my eye on is the

| Help me with Unison newsreader? | 18 Nov 2005 11:14 GMT | 34 |
I paid $25 for this, and it's vexing me. Often the Get More icon isn't lit up, even when it turns out there were more postings available. Often when I do Get More (manually, since the command icon isn't lit up for me) the program takes forever to download the headers. And often
