iMovie HD stuttering and stopping while importing28 Nov 2005 15:26 GMT4
I have iMovie HD 5.0.2 and have been using it for sometime now.  I have
never had problems importing from my CanonZR65 before.  I have imported
one 60minute tape and have been able to import almost all of a second
60minute tape.  But about 30 minutes into the import, it starts ...

G4 Quicksilver 733Mhz 640MB 10.3.9
First inkling of trouble was having Software Update indicate 2 items;
click on "Install 2 Items" button, it greys out, but nothing happens.
Proceed to download disk images from Apple. Double click on disk image;

A friend of mine just got a new iBook with Tiger.  She has a POP dial up
account.  After a few weeks her mail box filled and she started to
bounce messages.  Can someone direct me to the toggle in Tiger mail that
instructs Mail when to strip messages from the server.  I am running
Quick MP3-Recording App?27 Nov 2005 04:13 GMT2
Does there exist a simple application to let me really quickly record
("jot down," so to speak) a snippet of sound, especially if it can save
it away in MP3 format?  In short, "no frills," so to speak, and
voice-grade is acceptable, just as long as it's really simple and fast.

Can't copy my DVD?26 Nov 2005 20:54 GMT10
I have a demo DVD that was made by a co-worker.  This is unprotected,
personal stuff made using a consumer video editor on a PC. The DVD
simply has 4 short segments with a DVD menu to let us watch any of the
four. Each is a demo of a movie style that we are comparing to see how

We keep getting returned mail because the mail app is adding "pop3" when
replying to legitimate addresses. For example, when replying to
"anybody@worldnet.net", mail will send it out as
"anybody@pop3worldnet.net
Installing GarageBand on a Computer w/o DVD Drive26 Nov 2005 02:01 GMT12
I have an iLife 2004 dvd and would like to move the application over
from one Mac (a G5) to a G4 desktop that does not have a dvd drive (and
not use it anymore on the G5). I am mainly interested in the GarageBand
component of iLife.

importing ripped DVD to iMovie25 Nov 2005 21:24 GMT2
Hello, I am trying to rip a DVD and import it into iMovie.  I am using
diva to convert the VOB file to DVD, and I'm importing that into
iMovie.  It seems to work, but it's slow.  What I don't understand is,
why does iMovie take so long (30 minutes) to import the DV file?  I

Corruption of windows app when hard drive asleep or VPC paused in the dock25 Nov 2005 04:46 GMT5
I am using 15" powerbook with 10.4.3 and Virtual PC 6.1.1 with Windows
XP pro.
I mainly use VPC to run a specialised accounting application (not one
of the common ones, and no-one on this board would have heard of it)
Scanner Software trouble25 Nov 2005 04:36 GMT2
I'm scanning on a CanoScan 9950F using Photoshop 7 and Scangear CS.
Much of what I'm scanning is 35mm film strips, but there are quite a few
126 slides.  This software doesn't deal well with such slides.  In order
to scan the slides, it needs an adjustment on EACH "crop" to get it ...
