I'm trying to check out a issue for my non-technically savvy girlfriend. She had to restart her powerbook without powering down first due to a technical malfunction with her internal CD drive and when it came back up again again, Firefox was unusable.

I updated to last version of iMovie HD... all camcorder commands run well (Sony DV), I hit the import button, I see the movie (with black stripes... why ?) no sound ... and no import at all !

A figure object extracted from a Powerpoint slide (sent to me from a windows system) is labeled a "picture clipping" by MAC OS9.2. The format is not readable by Adobe Illustrator or Photoshop.

I'm using ffmpegX to convert some WMA files to MP3. I'd really like to know the command line equivalent of whatever ffmpegX is doing so that I can write a little shell script to batch process rather than drag and drop every file individually. Is there any way for me to figure this
