I am using Retrospect Workgroup to back up about 20 client machines
over the network to DLT tape.  When a tape gets full (which is
happening more frequently these days), Retrospect knows how to
continue an archive on a subsequent tape.  If a restore is

Verification of new CD failed - what th' heck?21 Sep 2005 22:39 GMT4
I used toast to write some CDs this afternoon, and verification on one
failed with an inscrutable message about the location of the failure. It
mounted fine, and I didn't try all 500MB of data, but all seemed fine. I
tossed the CD as a matter of caution and burned another one.
Images corrupted in Address Book backup21 Sep 2005 21:14 GMT1
After upgrading to Tiger, I found that my usual method of copying my
Address Book entries from my desktop system to my laptop was no longer

I imported a DV clip into iMovie 3.  The clip has one video track and
one stereo audio track.  I would to separate the two channels of the

News Reader Software for OS 10.421 Sep 2005 17:43 GMT8
I imagine this has been asked dozens of times, but I seldom come here and
am out of date. I am looking for the names of some credible newsgroup
readers. In OS 9 and below, I have been using an ancient version of
Newswatcher but I suppose it has not been updated for S X. I understand ...

the Activity Monitor and it's true. But it's not the same thing with
Xfactor. There mac is somewhat slower but I can use other apps. ...

Centralized bookmarks for web browser?21 Sep 2005 00:40 GMT5
I've got two computers that I regular surf on, one is a desktop, and the
other my laptop.  For both I use Firefox if possible, defaulting to
other browsers as required for certain sites (hardly ever happens, so
it's hit and miss as to which browser I use).

E-mail attachments are not getting sent, they head to the outbox after
I click Send. Then I'd get a message that read:
"This message could not be delivered and will remain in your outbox
until it can be delivered. Sending the message context to the server
