Mail interface question24 Sep 2005 15:32 GMT1
My new Mail program has a rather bland interface; it's not really
burnished metal, like say Tiger or the address book. Can I change the
look of the Mail program somehow? I recall an older version looked a
little more interesting.
Safari slowness as compared to other browsers24 Sep 2005 14:15 GMT2
I don't know if it's just the web URLs that I'm going to but I'm
finding that other browsers such as Firefox and Camino seem to render
web pages many times quicker than Safari.  Is that a fair observation
or do I have something "funny" going on in my setup?

When I get new email how can I adjust either my mail app or the address
book so the email addresses of all new incoming mail are automatically
saved in my address book as new contacts?

Native import of digital video files?23 Sep 2005 22:14 GMT2
I have no clue what the native file structure is of digital video. My
camera attaches to the Mac and iMovie starts up. It imports the clips as
iMovie clips, which appear to be in a proprietary format that Toast doesn't
relate to well.

The ABSOLUTELY BEST Usenet App23 Sep 2005 19:48 GMT8

By VERY BEST, I mean the one which is FASTEST, has the MOST OPTIONS
available, and the EASIEST to configure.
Currently, I am using a Demo version of Hogwasher 4.22, but there are many
Trouble playing Windows Media content on Firefox OSX Tiger. Any ideas?23 Sep 2005 18:48 GMT1
I'm having trouble playing various links that point to streaming
Windows Media content (near as I can tell.) I'm hoping someone can
help.
I'm running OSX Tiger, Firefox 1.07. I'm trying to use streaming audio

command line SIT and HQX available?23 Sep 2005 16:26 GMT2
OS X's terminal commands provide zip and unzip functionality. Is there a
command line util for handling SIT and HQX files? I'd like to move away
from Stuffit and Dropstuff, which have grown unnecessarily complex.

Inexpensive WYSIWYG HTML editor?22 Sep 2005 19:52 GMT5
I'm looking for a relatively inexpensive source for a MacOS X WYSIWYG
HTML editor (I'm sufficiently out of practice that I'd at least like to
START with something graphical, even if I go back to a text-based
editor).
Getting video burned to DVD in correct ratio22 Sep 2005 15:05 GMT3
I've got video that displays in the correct ratio of height to width in
iMovie and on the camera in playback. When I burn a DVD, though, it comes
out letterboxed, stretched in width so everyone is short and fat.
My settings are video, DVD-Video, NTSC, high video quality, and create ...
Problem with Unison 1.6.322 Sep 2005 05:52 GMT1
If I select any message (in any NG) that I have already read, Unison
becomes unresponsive and won't read any other messages at all. The only
thing I can do is quit and relaunch. Anyone else have this problem?
