I'm recommending a friend make the jump to Mac, but she wants to use Word & Excel. Personally I won't have anything microsoft on my hardware, so I can't advise her. Can someone using MSOrifice with 10.4.2 advise me? Thanks

Virtual PC version 6, with Windoze 2000 Pro. Tried to run the updater to get the latest Service Pack but it quit, the error message saying that there wasn't enough room on the (virtual) hard disk. Ran the disk utility in VPC, converted the 'fixed' disk to 'dynamically expand'.

As part of the Education Version of the Adobe Design Collection, I have Acrobat 5.0. This installed and ran perfectly well on my Mac OS X box; I suspect it was version 10.1 or 10.2. Moreover, it ran fine, even after upgrading Mac OS X to 10.4.3.

I recently updated to iTunes 5. It wasn't such a good idea. The Quicktime plugin that allowed me to play Ogg Vorbis files only works for Quicktime 6, and iTunes 5 uses Quicktime 7. So "upgrading" to iTunes 5, in my case, caused a lack of functionality, to the point
