Sharing iApps data between 2 Macs30 Sep 2005 19:58 GMT8
I have had an iMac for a while now, running Jaguar.  Now I also have a
new Powerbook, running Panther.  Not planning to upgrade the OS on the
iMac anytime soon, as I have a couple of external Firewire drives and
don't feel like taking the risk.

Or is there any add-on software that will allow me to do this?

Safari: Doesn't ask before downloading!30 Sep 2005 19:09 GMT20
If I click on a link, safari just downloads the linked file without
asking!  It's silly if I just want to know what's behind the link, see
the file name and type etc.  After knowing this I might want to download.
Can I somehow make safari ask for permission before it downloads the ...
Retrospect 6.0 - help!!30 Sep 2005 09:09 GMT10
I've been happily running Retrospect 6.0 on an elderly G4, which has
recently died. I have access to its disks, but not to the machine (so I
can't search it).
I've moved all the relevant files I can find to the replacement - a
Best app for accurate rescaling of images?30 Sep 2005 08:40 GMT5
I did a big bunch of scans and now find that the images are too small to
be OCR'rd. I tried increasing the scale with the simple apps available
to me and the OCR software still could not recognize them. What app is
the best for accurately rescaling images?
Unison--how to look at only my posts?30 Sep 2005 04:17 GMT1
Sometimes when I post to a very heavily posted newsgroup I have to wade
through hundreds of posts to see if anyone responded.  Is there a way
in Unison 1.6.2 to do this?  In OE I think its "view replies to my
posts"; in Opera its Active Threads.
ITunes Problems30 Sep 2005 01:19 GMT2
I recently bought a new PowerBook 15". Upon starting turning on this
unit for the time I was able to transfer my information and
applications from an older iBook that has since when give to my
step-dad for a birthday gift. In any event I thought I had transfered
Preview problem29 Sep 2005 23:52 GMT3
Whenever I open a document in Preview, it opens on my second monitor, not
the main monitor (which is where I want documents to open). It hasn't always
been this way though I can't figure out what I did to change the default
monitor for Preview documents and, more importantly, I ...
Best inexpensive audio-editing app?29 Sep 2005 21:28 GMT10
I need to edit some audio files (putting together parts of several
different aiff files) for 90-second segments to be played on the radio.
I may never need to do this again and don't want to invest big bucks in
sound-editing software. I have QT Pro 6, but don't see a way to do what
iTunes "checking playlist...." Why?29 Sep 2005 03:57 GMT4
In itunes 5, when I try to burn a CD, the iTunes window says "Checking
playlist..."  and for a CD with numerous tunes, this takes *a long
time.* I do not remember iTunes doing this in earlier versions.
What is iTunes checking? And can it turn this "feature" off? I can't
Found a page that works only in Opera!29 Sep 2005 02:05 GMT7
Weird: I found a Motorola web page that works *only* in Opera:
http://commerce.motorola.com/consumer/QWhtml/manual.html
Try to "select category phones", then "select product 120t".  Weird,
huh? Doesn't work in Safari and not even in Firefox!
