I need to compress some folders so I can store them online for both PC and
Mac use.  When I was using the PC I used 7zip but 7zip doesn't have any Mac
versions and Stuffit can't read them.  How about Winzip or Winrar?  Wouldn't
they be "unStuffitable"?

There is a zlib problem around. I am posting in case something happens
and you people miss it.

I am playing with the Mac. I cannot find any place that talk about
password expired on Mac?
Google said that the password will expired after 90 days. After that,
the user cannot login and the login prompt will not prompt for change

I use osx 10.3 and cocoa booklet printed a booklet for me just fine.
Now (who knows how many MAC system updates later (4 months or so) and
Cocoa booklet hangs on "processing". Anyone know what's up?

On a feature by feature basis, what compares best and is closest to as
elegant and bug-free?  (I have another friend asking for something like
MT-NW, and I need some advice.)

Is it possible to lock the icons in the dock so I don't accidently
delete any of them? So far, I've trashed 3 of them. I'm using OS X

Have file that is XViD video with mpga audio (44100KHz). QuickTime will play
video very smoothly, but audio doesn't work.
Tried DivX Dr. II to convert to .mov, but get error -2009 (can't find
anywhere what that means).

I have several avi files that will not play on my iMac. I don't
remember having any trouble playing avi files on my pc before I got

Hi, I want to put a couple of photos on my homepage. Since they look
really good I want to protext them against thieves.
How can I batch-add a watermark and a copyright note to the photos? Does
anybody know a free tool that can do it?

hi i got this copy of photoshop 7 but its in german help does any on
know of any why of putting the words from germa to englsih or some
software that will do it

i was using it on a 7500/100 with OS 8.6 and it worked perfectly. Now
I've upgraded to OS 9.1 and it doesn't work. it loads but will not
produce a browser window.

Hello guys - first post.
I had a mac back in 1993, then I bought a PC and have been stuck with
one ever since.....
Good news is I'm switching back so anyhelp would be appreciated.  :)

Hope you don't mind me asking your help.  I'd like to put music on my
ipod from CD to laptop to ipod, but then delete the music from the
laptop when it's been moved to the ipod.  However, when I do and then
attach the ipod to my laptop, it synchs to the laptop and, I suppose
