Printing datestamp on photo28 Jul 2005 10:00 GMT1
I use iPhoto 4.0 on MacOS 10.3.2 to manage my digital photos from a
Canon A80 camera. Is there an easy way to produce prints on which a
datestamp showing when the photo was taken is superimposed? iPhoto has
the information as it shows it in the Organize or Edit views, but the
the use of drawers28 Jul 2005 03:36 GMT14
I am the author of OSXnews which is a usenet client that mimics the U

of dropping drawers too.  I personally don't have tiger so I don't ...

Optical signal28 Jul 2005 03:10 GMT3
I have a G5 Dual 1.8 Ghz Mac, and a Boss SP-505 drum sampler.  The drum
sampler has an optical and digital in, and my computer has digital in
and out.  I just bought an optical cable, and I'm trying to hook the
optical out on my computer to the optical in on my sampler.  I connect
Microsoft Entourage Sometimes Mangles HTML Containing Incoming Mail27 Jul 2005 19:46 GMT1
My sister uses Microsoft Entourage to send and receive email on her eMac. A
few weeks ago some incoming mail that was html formatted arrived bungled,
that is, the text was presented as pure gibberish. If she forwarded such an
email to herself then it was readable. I spent some ...
Long file names in Word X27 Jul 2005 18:37 GMT10
Don't know if this has been answered -- I assume it's been asked before
-- but is there any way to force MS Word X to accept long file names? It
limits you to 31 characters, including the file extension, which is very
limiting nowadays.

Deleting searches from Google/Safari memory26 Jul 2005 19:26 GMT6
When I go to Google and type a letter in the search bar, it offers me a
long list of previous searches.
Is this a Google feature or Safari feature?
I would rather not want others to always see what I have searched for.
Trouble with QuickTime26 Jul 2005 18:15 GMT3
I really hope someone can help... before i tear ALL my hair out.
I was having a few small probs with Quicktime not playing some files

thought i would download and re-install Quicktime. When i did the
Problem Loading many Quicktime Movies on 1 webpage26 Jul 2005 13:41 GMT1
I have a web application that is loading roughly 15 quicktime movies on
one page.  When the user hits this page it takes a long time to
download because the browser is downloading the entire movie.
I want to at minimum post the first frame of the movie so the viewer
DVD copying/compression software25 Jul 2005 18:01 GMT5
Okay, so which app does the panel prefer for burning movies to DVDs
(with the copyright owner's permission, 'natch)?
I've looked at MacTheRipper for backing up DVDs to hard disk, but I'm
trying to choose between various packages for burning said backups to a
"Family software" (Single copy of an app installed on two Macs?)25 Jul 2005 15:21 GMT2
Just inquiring whether anyone has any general observations on "family
software": buying a single copy of a commercial app and and doing a dual
installation on both of two Ethernet-connected household laptops.
(Not trying to cheat the vendors here.  Some of these apps we use very
SAFARI and Print Preview?25 Jul 2005 12:54 GMT4
I use both IE and Safari.  I like Safari fine, but what I miss is when I
print from this - there is no print preview so I never know what I will
get out the printer.  (Also, I don't like the lines of text at top &
bottom of the page, and I'd like to get rid of this.)
MT-Newswatcher article cache error msg25 Jul 2005 02:43 GMT1
Upgraded from 10.3.9 to 10.4 (and then 10.4.1 and 10.4.2).
Since the upgrade I've been getting an error message on startup of
MT-NW, about 75% of the time:

transfering iTunes library from Mac to PC25 Jul 2005 01:38 GMT5
I spent quite a bit of time loading the family CDs into iTunes on my
Mac. Now my husband is getting his own iPod, which is great, but he
works with a PC. It would be a major drag for him to have to reload all
those CDs! I need to transfer all the family CDs that I have on my Mac
