I'm looking for a good text-only editor working with tiger, and maybe free... I know there's bbedit, but what I need is nothing more than a text editor with syntax highliting... Do you know any opensource/free program like that?

Suddenly I can't close a message after opening it. I put it in trash but if I try to delete it, it comes back to my In folder. Messages stay unread no matter what. Could this be a virus? Fred

Am I the only who has problems with PostgreSQL 8.0.1 {pgsql-8.0.1.pkg and pgsql-startupitem-1.2.pkg}? It no longer works after a clean install of MacOS X 10.4.1. And after reinstall of the two pkg-packages. The latter isn't even accepted at

In my neverending quest to revive ancient hardware, I just got ahold of a IIci with 4 MB RAM, about 120 MB hard drive, using built-in video. I'm not planning to do anything fancy with it, and will primarily be looking to run software of the same era. Rebuilding

In the past week, my PB (10.3.9) has started showing a funny new misbehavior. It'll seem to be happily plugged into the charging dongle the connector's light will be orange, and the battery timer in the top bar will show a decreasing time. Then suddenly I get the popup

I just installed the iWork trial (fully functional for 30 days, including saving and printing). I drop the Keynote icon on Script Editor and get a dictionary. I drop the Pages icon on Script Editor and get a message that the application is not scriptable.
