Tiger breaks hyperCard25 Jun 2005 23:37 GMT2
I've depended on hyperCard for many years, mostly for business
purposes. For that reason, I long delayed moving to OS X. I've made the
change, finally, and I've (mostly) converted my hyperCard stacks to

I impulsively decided to take a hasty flying leap into the 21st

pretty well. I see its advantages, though I think I could have been
contented with OS 9 for the rest of my life.

My company are about to release a slideshow presentation program called

Best mac Web browser is?24 Jun 2005 18:02 GMT35
I use FireFox.  Good browser, better than Safari, but still some things
are lacking.  I miss the old scrapbook from IE 5.x, I miss the ability

to the clipboard from within a web browser window.  Everytime I ...
Is it Junk or Trash24 Jun 2005 16:45 GMT2
When I use mail.app, I have both a Trash box and a Junk box. Can some
one tell me, what is the criteria that makes a questional message be put
in Junk as opposed to Trash, or is it luck?

MacOS X 10.4.1 with 256 MB of RAM and plenty of spare HD, running iCal

It's about a 50-50 chance that when I launch iCal, my preferences file
will get trashed or otherwise ignored and overwritten. This is most
itunes library bigger than iPod memory?23 Jun 2005 20:33 GMT3
What if the itunes library is bigger than the iPod memory?
Imagine you have a 4GB iPod mini, but 30GB of music in your itunes.  You
don't want to delete songs from itunes because you sometimes use your
computer directly to listen to music. You just want to tell itunes which

Aspect ratios and ffmpegX23 Jun 2005 19:24 GMT1
I'm having a little trouble converting a VOB file to a DivX avi file
and keeping the correct aspect ratio. The original VOB is 720x480
according to ffmpegX, which is obviously 3:2. When I select the same
resolution, or any other 3:2 resolution for the output file (subject to
Problem with anchors, only in SAFARI23 Jun 2005 18:50 GMT6
I'm stumped.
I had to whip up a site, and the right hand sub-links (the ones under
General Information) are anchors to other parts of that page.

I have a question about iTunes on Windows XP, I hope you can help.
Due to my daughter's C: drive filling up, I bought a new drive, and
moved all of "My Documents" over to it. I used Tweak UI to modify
Windows so it now sees F: as the home for My Documents, My Music, My

Just got my Mac Mini, running Tiger, and I want to uninstall a couple of
the apps that came with it (including the games). I have no OS X
