iDVD Can Create DVD from Final Cut Pro Video?03 Jun 2005 03:47 GMT2
I'm a little annoyed.  Somebody I spoke to at Apple said that Final Cut
Pro will let me create DVDs with menus and all that.  I now see that
Final Cut Studio will let you do that, because it incorporates DVD
Studio Pro 4 into it.  Perhaps I just somehow confused him, and he
Java 1.5.0 for 10.3.902 Jun 2005 21:54 GMT6
I understand that there is a way to update 10.3.9 with the latest Java,
though Apple hasn't put it out on Software Update.  Has anyone here done
this, yet?

Cheapo 3D terrain editor02 Jun 2005 21:46 GMT4
Does anyone know of a simple bit of software that would allow me to put
in a table of spot heights, (or draw contours would be nice), and which
would then render this as a 3-D landscape, which one could move around
on and over?

I'm looking for something like At Ease for OSX.  Some kind of login system
which seriously limits what that user has access to.  I teach in a prison,
and I want to be able to give a student access to Word and Pagemaker, for
example, without him being able to get into preferences, ...

keynote: How to use style sheets?02 Jun 2005 05:28 GMT1
I tried keynote today, and I was surprised that there seem to be no
style sheets?
I have a lot of lines in my presentation that are code examples: smaller
font, courier.  So, I think it's natural to define a "code" style sheet

My relative recently downloaded some music files and when he went to
play his library everything was gone. Has anyone experienced this? Is
there a way to recover the files? The IPOD hasn't been touched since
the event. Any help will be appreciated.

Which files do I have to move for a user moving from one Mac to another
so that he can continue to see his mail archives?

Emacs from the command line01 Jun 2005 17:32 GMT7
I try to make emacs start from the command line again. In the Terminal
or X11. It works as it should from the GUI, and it is possible to start
it by typing:
G4:/Applications/Emacs.app/Contents/MacOS per$ ./Emacs

The trackpad doesn't scroll in emacs: mwheel doesn't work. Does anyone
know how to make it work?
Thanks!
P.S.: I have emacs 22.0.50.1 on tiger.

I am running out of space in the menu bar but would like to add some
more icons. Is there a hack/application which allows to add a "second
row"?
