I have an iMac G5 and wonder if it's possible to transfer some of my
vinyl lps onto cd using the computer. What, if any, additional
components are required.

How do I find screen coordinates for the mouse?

Is it possible with a PowerBook G4 (OSX 10.4) to close the lid and
still run an external monitor?  Almost every PC laptop running Win XP
can do this without a problem, but I've been unable to do it on the Mac
(it always goes to sleep when you close the cover).

I have been on OS 9 for SOOooo Long and am trying to get up to speed on
OS 10.4. Whew! I love the new system, but I have to try to get this mini
up and running by early next week to function in my office at home.
My old progs on OS 9 that I used daily were MS office, Drop Drawers ...

Hey all
I'm looking to get Office for MAC. If anyone can post those files, I'd
be in your debt.

God, is it frustrating trying to accomplish something with a fairly
complex primary level product like TextEdit that has no indexed,
detailed, fairly complete manual to let you track down finer details of
how to accomplish tasks using it!!

When I try to capture video on either Final Cut or Imovie - through
firewire my G4 Powerbook (with OS 10.2.8 and 800Hz)  chrashes
everytime. It manages from 1- 4minutes before the screen is dimmed
down by an annoying "curtain" and a white box appear, telling me to

Does anybody else think this port is less than stellar?  The GUI is
awful, and I'd be hard-pressed to believe it's that clunky on OS X  (I
don't have a Mac to compare at the moment).  The thing that bugs me
most is having to double-click on a row in a playlist to play it after

Is there an Acrobat Reader version that works with OSX Tiger? On their
website I see only links to versions up to OSX 10.3

I'm angry and need to rant about the last two DVD's I bought.
I bought a movie on DVD that came with a companion HD-DVD version, but
the sucka required win-doze media player 9, which I have on my Mac, and
played kinda like a fast slide show (jerky).  

Well, after suffering along for 8 years on an old 8600 running 9.1, I
finally upped for a Mac mini running 10.4. So I'm having a bit of a
learning curve (albeit an enjoyable curve).
However, I have a couple questions:

Upgraded recently to 4.8 and now get an error message saying "the movie
file .......aiff cannot be found. Without this file the movie cannot
play properly."
I can CANCEL the message, but it pops up again randomly time and again.

How do I keep this from happening again:
I import music into itunes and play the music from a smart playlist
called "recently added"(last two weeks). I sort these new tracks from
the playlist, either deleting, putting into other playlists or doing
