Hi all, the name's Peter, and I've just subscribed to this group. Greetings to you all. I've just taken an iMac G5 out of the box as the first step on a migration from windoze... be warned I am a total newbie to any mac osx, which sure helps as I have an immediate problem..LOL..

Motorola has a program to d/l ringtones/pics/dates. etc, etc. But it is for PC's. Does anyone know of a comparable prog for the Mac? I'm pretty ignorant of anything at this time.....

I don't understand why Apple doesn't allow users to download earlier versions of their software. I have an old Mac that was still at 6.4, and I was about to update it to 6.5.2. I have no intention of updating to 7.0, so now it seems that I'm stuck with an older version

Everytime I try to play a video Quicktime grabs it and I see the spinning wheel of death. I'd like to purge Quicktime off the system entirely unless someone can think of any use for it. VLC does videos flawlessly - Quicktime has never been able to play a single video! Suggestions ...

I'm fairly new to Macs (only purchasing my powerbook last week) and I'm currently using Mplayer OS X to play my movie files. When doing this I have my TV plugged into the S-Video out port and then I'm happily able to have the TV showing the movie full screen, while the laptop screen

Is there any magical way to turn off the annoying pause iTunes has between playing tracks? With tracks that blend into one another (such as on 242's Pulse) it breaks the flow of the music. I've had this problem with Windows players too but honestly it is possible to do this properly ...

I have a handful of MP3 files that won't import to iTunes no matter what I try. They play fine in Quicktime and have a file suffix of .mp3. When I drag them to an iTunes window, though, nothing happens. There's no error message or anything.
