iTunes quitting at startup13 Mar 2005 21:25 GMT1
iTunes is misbehaving. It quits with a kernel exception at startup. OS

update the software, and everything was fine again... for a ...

iMovie Jaggies13 Mar 2005 09:49 GMT3
On my still jpg's - they're just not coming out well at all.
Many of the 300 or so photo's I want in a slideshow - interspersed with
a couple of 40-sec movies - are at about 250KB.  But when I look at the

Cannot use Safari after re-installing MacOS X 10.3 Panther12 Mar 2005 16:17 GMT4
I re-installed MacOS X 10.3 "Panther" from the original CDs on my iBook G4.
To my amazement, after succesful installation, Safari did not work anymore.
The application launches, but I cannot type into the address box.
Bookmarks do not work either.
Dual layer DVDs12 Mar 2005 12:47 GMT2
If I create an image with Carbon Copy Cloner, and it's, say, 7 gigs,
can I burn this to one of those dual layer DVDs? Is the space
"contiguous" or do you have a 4.x gig boundary?
Thanks.

Adobe Ads in Menu Bar?11 Mar 2005 13:55 GMT9
Some combination of downloading a PDF file from the web and Adobe
Acrobat Professional just put a mini-ad for Acrobat **in the menu bar**
of my Panther OS X iBook (at the left end, where the system clock
usually sits).  Don't recall ever seeing that before -- has anyone else?

I burned a CD for my dad using Toast 6.0.1 and the Data/Mac & PC option

his Windows XP box, he sees only truncated names of files that had long

I'm looking for an OS X newsreader that has some of the functionality
of Outlook Express or Agent on the PC.  I want to be able to mark

a view that shows just the threads that I have marked.
Attn: Jeff in LA on iDVD problem10 Mar 2005 16:04 GMT1
Jeff,
Try launching the process from the "burn disc" pulldown menu instead of launching via the "burn" button. This sometimes bypasses quirky program blocks.
