Could someone please tell me how to extract about ten seconds of music from a four minute mp3? I have iTunes, Toast, Garageband, the regular applications, running on an iMac G5. I only plan to do this once, so if there is a cheap way to do this I would appreciate the advice. Thanks!

Is there a way to disable Photoshop 7's weekly auto-update "feature"? On a weekly cycle it contacts Adobe and attempts to download new code. I can find no preference parameter that lets me adjust the interval or --better yet -- defer the updates until I decide the time is right.

| Internet sharing with OS X | 14 Mar 2005 14:43 GMT | 8 |
I've read some strange warnings, mostly on university help sites, about turning on "internet sharing" with Mac OS X, and there's even a warning that pops up when you turn it on, about "violating your provider's TOS."

Lucky me chanced into a bit of a financial windfall recently, so I'm toying with the possibility of picking up a 1080i camcorder an Final Cut Pro HD, and doing so full-HD studio production. It would mostly be just as a hobby and for momentos for the future, but also just because ...

| How to manually truncate a file? | 14 Mar 2005 05:48 GMT | 2 |
A technique to turn a Flash .exe file into an .sfw file is where you locate a certain string, then chop off everything from that point through the end. To look at this in hex form example, it would be like taking the file 2d3f 648a 901c 62be
