Firefox & Mac-Specific Help17 Mar 2005 20:34 GMT2
I've been having this problem with the contents of Firefox windows
disappearing when I switch to other apps and back.  It's a real big pain
but the contents will reappear with a Command+ or Command-, curiously
enough.  Closing Firefox and restarting it helps for awhile but soon,
An Apple 2 button mouse?17 Mar 2005 18:27 GMT32
If the rumor is true it will be one less thing for the Apple haters to
complain about.

Giving up on Safari: Camino, Firefox, or Omniweb?17 Mar 2005 16:57 GMT71
Lately I have been dreading any time at the computer I love so much. A
good part of it involves the use of a browser, and much of that time I
spend staring at the spinning beachball. I am not talking about loading
complex pages, it is for the simplest tasks.
is Toast still worth it?17 Mar 2005 16:34 GMT3
Well, got the new imac with new idvd and superdrive...
Being a Toast user for many years - does Toast still offer anything for
the regular user.   Aside from burning "common" format discs (like iso
or joilet), I'm not sure what features toast offers that I don't have
This old dinosaur needs to evolve - PageMaker to ?17 Mar 2005 09:42 GMT9
I design business forms for a living. I have been doing so ever since
PageMaker was an Aldus product (V 1.2, I believe). PageMaker has been
and still remains my tool of choice for that purpose.
But I'm aware that PageMaker's useful life is rapidly coming to an end.
LDIF files17 Mar 2005 08:17 GMT2
What is an LDIF file? How can I make one. The OS 10.3.8 version of Apple's
Mail will not import email addresses from Entourage and if you go the
'from a file' route, the Help faciltity says Mail only recognises LDIF
files. I have a very extensive email address list to transfer and ...
recommend Mac animation software17 Mar 2005 02:56 GMT5
My 12 year old has been doing some fairly sophisticated animations with
Appleworks Presentation slide show.  Not exportable.  He would probably
be interested in trying something more professional with inbetweening
and exporting capability.

Toast DVD Burn Error Help16 Mar 2005 23:31 GMT1
I have received the following error message using Toast 6.0.7 & 6.0.9
several times in the last week or so.  The media I'm burning to remains
the same as I've used consistently in the past, and my OS has had no
changes of late (that I'm aware of) -- 10.3.6 with permissions
"Sequential" key commands16 Mar 2005 20:24 GMT1
Back in the good old days of Nisus Writer (actually through the current
"Classis" version 6.5), one could assign keystroke equivalents of menu
commands that were sequences of up to three keystrokes, along with at
least one modifier key. For example, "Command-14" to change font size
VPC 6.1.1 w/ Windows XP Home16 Mar 2005 17:26 GMT3
Hi,  I have been using VPC 6.1.1 with OS X 10.2.8 and Windows XP Home
edition.
Lately, my VPC has been running very slow. It takes almost 10 minutes
to boot up, then it takes another 5 minutes to open any browser.
iPhoto Problem: Can't view pics16 Mar 2005 17:02 GMT6
I'm writing this on behalf of my daughter who developed a problem with
iPhoto (she's in Boston, I'm in Norway). Apparently she got some e-mail
attachments (photos, jpegs I assume) and copied and pasted them into
iPhoto. Now
Address book -> Thunderbird16 Mar 2005 16:37 GMT5
How can I get the contacts from my Apple Address Book into thunderbird?
Address Book doesn't provide any easy way to export you're contacts in
a standard file type that thunderbird can read, but I found some way of
getting it to export a VNC file...but I can't remember how I did it ...
Captioned iDVD slideshows16 Mar 2005 09:09 GMT4
I'm putting together a slideshow of scans of very old glass negatives
for a library (as a volunteer). The slideshow needs to be playable on
set top DVD players (that is, a DVD player attached to a television)
Each picture needs to have a (sometimes short, sometimes lengthy)
Sound problem16 Mar 2005 06:33 GMT1
Yesterday I installed Audacity to alter some music. iMac G5, 10.3.8,
1Gig factory ram. Now I have the following problems:

states: This file may not play correctly because it was compressed by
