I have changed my system dates to use the 24 hour clock, but the iCal, iChat and some other aps still use AM and PM. Is it possible to make everything use 24 hour time or do I have to be satisfied with 12 hour AM/PM for some applications?

| Importing CD audio into GarageBand? | 03 Mar 2005 17:03 GMT | 2 |
OK, so I've been playing with iLife '05, and it's great. iPhoto's upgrade is worth the cost of admission by itself, but I'm beginning to really like GarageBand. One thing I'd like to do, and I can't see an obvious, non-annoying way

Can someone comment on the compatibility of the Sony DCR-TRV480 Digital8 Handycam Camcorder with imovie? I take note that the list of compatible camcorders on the Apple site is way out of date.

| ftp and keychain | 03 Mar 2005 06:15 GMT | 5 |
I have to let off some steam. I have tried two well-known FTP clients. Both say they support the keychain. Neither retrieve my ftp passwords from the keychain. It seems they only use the keychain for passwords they made themselves, which defeats the purpose of having one keychain

From old unix days on vax/sun I am accustomed to using C-space to "set mark" in emacs. However, when I tried this on my Mac (OSX, Carbon Emacs), the command was intercepted by Butler which is also installed. It never gets to Emacs.

| Cyrillic fonts have disappeared | 02 Mar 2005 17:07 GMT | 6 |
This is rather strange but all my Cyrillic fonts seem to have disappeared, possibly as a result of upgrading to OS 10.3.7 (???). They aren't in Font Book, tho they are there in Character Palette->Unicode->Cyrillic (including some phenomenally obscure

| Diskwarrior failing? | 02 Mar 2005 03:09 GMT | 16 |
My mother's G3 (running 10.3.7) was getting pretty sick, so I tried to use DiskWarrior to fix the directory. No luck -- DW kept getting partway through, and then hanging. So I brought her computer to my home, and connected her to my dual G4
