Order of menu bar items?31 Mar 2005 04:12 GMT8
I have a bunch of 3rd party utes that put icons in the menu bar. Is
there a way to force these things into a certain order? i.e, I want
the Clock/Date utility (TimeStat) to come up first, at the far right,
then the Classic icon, Now Contact, etc.
Loud clicking sounds instead of audio in iTunes31 Mar 2005 03:41 GMT13
I am experiencing two problems, seemingly related.
1) I am no longer able to play or import CDs in iTunes.  I just get a
loud pattern of clicks when I do.  I have two CD Drives, and have tried
both.  I have also tried multiple disks, uninstalling and reinstalling

I would much appreciate some help.
I have a powerbook titanium 450mhz I believe. When I try to start up the
powerbook a gray apple appears with the gray spinning dial which looks a bit
like a clock face and it never stops. I push the power button to restart and

iDVD 4 & original photos29 Mar 2005 21:15 GMT2
I've been creating lots of slideshows in iDVD 4 using JPEGs from iPhoto
4, to share with relatives.
While I always have iDVD's Preferences set to "always include original
photos on DVD-ROM", iDVD has *never* actually put them anywhere on the
A bookmark manager29 Mar 2005 20:06 GMT3
I am vaguely familiar with the shareware URL Manager. What I want is a
central file, like a database, to hold all my URLs. It needs to be
accessible, without too many key strokes or mouse moves, from any web
browser or email client in a manner similar to a Photoshop plug-in.
Virtual PC 7 Upgrade Failure29 Mar 2005 19:22 GMT4
Well this is Microsoft's idea of customer support (really). Instead
of giving all of that money away to stockholders, maybe they could have
done a little for their CUSTOMERS. Now that I have that off my chest,
here's the problem. When upgrading from Virtual PC 6 to 7 I got this
G4 Yikes29 Mar 2005 17:42 GMT4
The tech support guy at Micromat had never heard of a G4 that cannot
boot from an external firewire drive, and yet mine never has since I
have owned it. Do you know how Apple implemented it, and whether it can
be reversed?
AOL 10.2.1 Unable to change default download manager folder29 Mar 2005 14:28 GMT1
Using AOL 10.2.1 for Mac OS X and under AOL, Preferences, Downloads,
the default folder to save your downloads in is the desktop.  If we
change the folder to something different then click OK to close out of
Preferences, when we go back in, it reverts back to the default
Airport question29 Mar 2005 13:48 GMT3
There seem to be a lot of Airport experts here so I'll ask the question to
all of you:
I have a G5 and my wife is about to get a Powerbook.  We're interested in
going wireless at home where we already have a cable modem (road runner.)
Best File-Sharing Software For Macs?29 Mar 2005 11:39 GMT1
I'm new to Macs, and loved Soulseek P2P for PCs. Is there something
similar (that is tailored more to indie nerds like myself?) Or,
what's the best P2P overall?
Thanks...
