How to transfer iTunes to another Mac15 Feb 2005 19:48 GMT2
What's the best way to transfer my iTunes from one Mac to another?
What folders/files do I need to copy so that iTunes
library/playlists/settings are the same on the new computer as they were on
the original computer?
Selecting audio input in GarageBand15 Feb 2005 19:31 GMT3
I was inspired by the "From Tape to CD" article in a recent MacWorld
magazine issue to try it myself with some old vinyl that I have. I
connected the stereo to the audio input of the PowerBook G4, and as
suggested in GarageBand help used the System Preferences to select the
Objectionable Quicken 2005 quirk15 Feb 2005 18:39 GMT1
I have been told by Intuit tech. support that Quicken 2005 users must
have Admin privileges just to run the application (at least under OSX).
Hard to believe anyone would tolerate so un-OSX a product. The
possibilities of accidental damage to system files seems to great.

it can't boot into os 9 I was just wondering if there is an emulator so I
could play around with os9.
reducing size of desktop photos15 Feb 2005 12:09 GMT1
How do you control the size of desktop pictures in 10.3? My desktop is
randomly accessing a file of pictures as background but they are all
way too big for the screen. No matter whether I choose "center" "full
screen" or any other option the size of the pics does not reduce.
Mail.app slow to connect15 Feb 2005 09:54 GMT5
I have two email clients, Apple's Mail.app and "Thunderbird".
Thunderbird connects to my pop3 server, and begins downloading, almost
before the finger has left the 'GetMail' button. 'Mail.app' on the other
hand takes up to a minute to connect.

Problems using iMic and Final Vinyl15 Feb 2005 04:00 GMT14
About three years ago there was a discussion on getting sound out of a
source that had no sound-out capability. Someone asked about using the
iMic and Final Vinyl through the headphone jack of a tape deck.
Wayne Morris said, " ... I did a quick test, using the headphone jack

Pages forum for tips, bugs and workarounds?15 Feb 2005 02:11 GMT2
Looking for a forum, discussion list etc in order to learn from others

I find Pages nice for most tasks, but have some minor quirks.

Sound Check in Itunes-how does it work15 Feb 2005 01:34 GMT4
At what point does Sound check work:
If the option is turned on and you are importing music CD's into
iTunes, does it do anything to alter the music files(my guess is no).
If the option is on,  I assume when listening to music on your computer
Acrobat Distiller needed for print jobs? (flyers etc)14 Feb 2005 18:30 GMT2
Do I really need Acrobat Distiller for print jobs (as in an external
print bureau), ie a flyer with photographs, or is the default way of OS
X good enough?
I need reasonable colour accuracy.

Is there a slower slideshow screensaver?14 Feb 2005 17:27 GMT3
I use 10.2.8 and use the slideshow screensaver to display the thousand
or so photos I've taken over the years when the computer is not
otherwise being used.  Unfortunately, I tend to find myself watching
the slideshow and not working.  However, I don't want to get rid of the
