iTunes statistics21 Feb 2005 20:19 GMT5
I've got around 7,000 songs on iTunes, and I was trying to find out how
many different artists I had -- but couldn't figure out how to find this
out.
Any ideas?
looking for simple DVD re-authoring software21 Feb 2005 20:12 GMT2
Looking for something that will let me add movies already encoded as VOB
files to a DVD-R, and possibly add a very simple menu, that can be
viewed in a stand-alone player.
iDVD won't touch VOBs and Toast doesn't support multiple audio streams.
Voice Recognition, iListen stuck at starting gate21 Feb 2005 20:10 GMT48
Just for kicks, thought I would evaluate MacSpeech's latest offering of
"iListen" version 1.6.4 for OS X.
Supposedly, correction of dictation mistakes can be done by voice,
completely hands free, no keyboard needed at all.
Safari better with 10.3.821 Feb 2005 17:10 GMT12
The update hasn't caused any problems, and the spinning pizza wheel of death
that frequently came to call when running Safari is gone.

In another room I have an iMac that I purchased in 1999.

Can't delete directory in Fetch21 Feb 2005 12:06 GMT3

CD Drive Tester21 Feb 2005 00:07 GMT2
Is there a way to test & diagnose the superdrive in my Mini?  It just went
kaput, or so it seems.  I've only had the computer for about 2 weeks and
haven't done any cd burning until today.
After about 7 cds it just ate two.  The first was a burn from iTunes.  The
Which Applications Folder?20 Feb 2005 19:19 GMT2
I'm just asking for a little reassurance or advice here regarding where
applications should best be installed?
I understand the basic concept that applications installed in my
computer's primary Applications folder are available to everyone, while
Is it possible to eliminate 'returns' from copied website or email text, posted to a new Word document?20 Feb 2005 17:00 GMT3
Often I copy text from a website (or email) to paste in a Word document.
The spacing is all off, with some very short lines, while others are
longer.
I've tried everything I can think of that will remove the 'return'
TurboTax Alert20 Feb 2005 15:19 GMT7
I just finished my 2004 tax return and discovered a significant flaw in
TurboTax. My tax situation is simple: just W2s, bank interest, state
taxes, a run-of-the-mill deductions. TurboTax figured line 42 (taxable
income) correctly but brought back the wrong tax from the tables. I
How to change frame focus in Safari from keyboard?20 Feb 2005 05:22 GMT2
Several sites I read regularly use frames in such a way that when I
first open the site, focus is on the top/left frame, often a banner or
navigation strip, and the PageDown key doesn't immediately work for
reading the page beyond the first screen. I generally have to click in
Audacity: How to convert stereo to mono20 Feb 2005 04:14 GMT10
In Audacity I cannot figure out how to convert an imported .wav stereo
file to mono. I guess the first step must be to Split Tracks.  But no
matter what I do after that, the exported .wav file is always stereo.
Help appreciated. Thx. T-L
iChat and AOL compatibility?20 Feb 2005 03:36 GMT2
I'm not sure why this is, but I know someone who uses AOL and I cannot
see them on line even though they are on my iChat buddy list.  Is
there some incompatibility between iChat and AIM?  He also uses an
older iBook.
