Virtual PC 5 for Mac updaters25 Jan 2005 17:09 GMT4
I've had to re-install Virtual PC 5.0; so far, so good.  I've
still (miraculously) got my bit of paper with the serial number on.
However, I couldn't find any backed-up copies of the intermediate
updaters (i.e., to update 5.0 to 5.04).  All the web links

Finding un-albumed photos in iPhoto?25 Jan 2005 01:27 GMT5
I often quickly offload the contents of a memory card into iPhoto, and
then return some time later (sometimes MUCH later) to album them. I
know that in the few thousand photos I have, there are some without
albums. Some rightly so because they are crap, and others that I want
Booting an eMac in OS924 Jan 2005 23:24 GMT9
I have tried to install an OS9 application from a CD onto my new eMac
with no success. It says "Can Not Locate Installer CD." When I click
the installer it opens in the Classic environment, but when I try to
install I get the aforementioned error message. The application's tech

Are there any apps for editing MP3s files?  Can this even be done?  In
other words, I have a big MP3 file and want to cut out parts of it and
put the rest into a new MP3 file.
Thanks.

I love my Macs, but 3 things annoy me24 Jan 2005 18:14 GMT10
I love my Macs (TiBookG4 + iMacG5), but 3 tiny things annoy me:
1- Apple mail - while beautiful - eats away all free memory and does not
release it/ does not quit [TiBook only]
2- Adobe Acrobat 6 Professional when applying update patch becomes
Print Explosion Deluxe24 Jan 2005 15:23 GMT1
Print Explosion Deluxe, will not start up after upgrading to the newest
verison (2.0.7).  Deleting the preference did not solve the problem.
Running MacOS 10.2.8.  Has anyone had this problem, if so what is the
solution.
Backing up mailboxes, Mail.app24 Jan 2005 11:58 GMT1
I archive all my mail into mailboxes, one per month.  I recently
installed an external hard drive to back up my data and want to make
sure these archives are safe on the other drive in case my Emac goes
down.  I have gone to my library folder and copied the folder called
How to Transfer Mail data from one old comp to new?24 Jan 2005 02:26 GMT2
Anyone have a link for instructions on how to transfer my mail from my
old iBook to my new one?  I tried dragging and dropping the Mail folder
(replacing the new one), but no luck (this works great for other apps
like Safari, Explorer, Newswatcher, but not Mail). Importing's not
Address Book: combining from two Macs?24 Jan 2005 02:08 GMT2
I've got two Macs at home-- a desktop upstairs and laptop for
downstairs use.
It so happens that, over the past year or so, I've ended up entering
some things into the address book on one, but not on the other.  (Some
Pages and Unicode23 Jan 2005 22:58 GMT15
Haven't been able to find this info online -- does Pages handle Unicode?
Also: does it do easy scripting (I'm comparing it to WordPerfect here),
and can it cleanly import Word .doc files?
(N.B.: It is tricky to Google for "iWork", since their algorithm returns
iTunes Help23 Jan 2005 22:34 GMT7

Macro software to control menus23 Jan 2005 14:33 GMT2
What OS X macro software can be used to control menus in applications? I
know that QuickKeys can, but it appears that DoThisNow can't (other than
having Applescript handle it). Any other macro programs that I've missed?
Thanks.
McMail vs Eudora23 Jan 2005 14:09 GMT5
Howdy
Looking at potentially replacing Eudora with Mac Mail.   Eudora never
seems to display HTML messages well.   Checkout out alternatives in case
the 'eudora is going away' rumors are true.
