Desktop resetter04 Jan 2005 12:26 GMT1
Under OS 9.x I used an app called Desktop Resetter that would reset the
desktop to a preset arrangement of the icons if it was accidentally
changed.  Version tracker and download.com had nothing for OS X.  Does
anyone know of a similar app for 10.2.8?

quicktime player window?  I have several short films that I want to
view in succession, but the best I've been able to achieve so far is
playing them in several different player windows, which is a pain.  I'd

Transferring OS 9 applications from OS 9 machine to OS X machine?03 Jan 2005 19:15 GMT7
To transfer a number of OS 9 applications from an existing OS 9 machine
to a new OS X (Panther) machine,  my understanding is that I copy the
applications into the Applications (OS 9) folder on the new machine.
(Some of my apps will be upgraded to new OS X versions, but many ...

figure out how to do. I like the way Explorer will print the URL of a
web site at the bottom of the page. It makes it easy to go back to a web

OnyX and permissions02 Jan 2005 23:39 GMT6
I've always had to boot from my installer CD to verify/repair
permissions on the boot disk with Disk Utility. OnyX appears to be able
to do this without rebooting. Can anyone explain why OnyX can do this
when Disk Utility can't? (I want to be sure it's doing what I think it's
Printing 2 up with Preview02 Jan 2005 21:15 GMT4
Preview has an option for printing more than one page of a .pdf file on a

looking at the option again after a failure to print 2 up shows that one
page per sheet is chosen.
