Transfer LP's and cassettes to CD11 Jan 2005 18:39 GMT4
I have seen some of the Griffin hardware to do this, and I see a lot of
Wintel-only crap out there... has anyone used this stuff and had good
success ? Any set-up tips for a good clean transfer ? I am running OSX
panther on an 2 yr old 700Mhz iBook. As for input, I am working on a
Why are IM client choices for Mac so pathetic?11 Jan 2005 15:26 GMT20
I've been using the Mac for nine years or so. Not until my company
started using Jabber for internal communications did I ever have
occasion to lament a lack of decent software for the Mac. I must also
have access to other IM systems to communicate with clients at times.
Expander Choking11 Jan 2005 10:54 GMT15
I can't seem to get Stuffit Expander to work on my new volume of Panther
10.3.7 (everything else seems to be running w/o a hitch).  I tried the
one that came with Panther and when that failed to work, I DLd the new
one--- 9.0.1.  When I drop files on either one (they don't appear ...
Textures/Blue Sky?11 Jan 2005 09:42 GMT3
Anyone know the current status of Textures from Blue Sky?
Last I heard they were supposedly focusing on an OS X version, but their
web site doesn't seem to move beyond the initial splash page.   Sad news
if they're gone -- any equally good substitutes?
Adobe Reader 7 plug-in11 Jan 2005 09:07 GMT9
I noticed that Adobe Reader 7 is out, so I installed it.
This version includes something previous versions didn't have-- a web
browser plug-in for viewing PDFs inline.
However the browser seems to be buggy.  The first PDF I tried it with
ICAL publishing question and X.2.8 server11 Jan 2005 07:43 GMT1
I am running 10.2.8 server and 25 clients.  I have subscribed to a free
ICAL server page and set up some information that I want to share with
my users.  Users log in from client and get there desktop.  Is there a
universal place to copy the ICAl.ics file to the server or client?
Help with Entourage newsreader11 Jan 2005 03:21 GMT1
Is there a way to group threads under a single topic line, and then expand
when you want to read the whole thread?  Something like the little > arrow
in List views in folders that you can click to see everything in the folder?
Thanks - jim
tsunami video11 Jan 2005 02:22 GMT3
I went to Wikipedia.
I looked up "tsunami".
I found lots of amateur video there to download.
First I needed to get bitTorrent.

iTunes, iTunes-Store, and mp3 players compatible??11 Jan 2005 01:26 GMT14
Dear Mac folks,
I have a Rio Cali sports mp3 player with 384 mb ram.  It is an
ever-so-sweet item for hot, cold, sweaty, rainy, jarring running and
athletics.  However, I currently connect it to a dreaded PC laptop.
windows media player not responding11 Jan 2005 01:13 GMT1
When I try to open a .wmv file, windows media player does not
respond. I tried re-installing the player with the same results.

Another Mail question.11 Jan 2005 00:18 GMT1
I belong to a few high volume mailing lists. Rather thne having them
clutter up my inbox, i direct them to their own folders.
WHat i would like is for "messages older then [x] days are deleted (or
moved to trash)". Now i've set up these rules but it seems that once
Very Slow VPC10 Jan 2005 22:43 GMT10
I have installed the 7.0 upgrade on my G5 iMac (10.3.6) and allotted it
about 500 megs of RAM and it is slow. A good deal slower than I
remember 6.0 was on a TiBook 400.
Any obvious solution?
Desktop Labels Deluxe10 Jan 2005 21:46 GMT2
Is there a program like Desktop Labels Deluxe which work natively in
OSX?  We are particularly looking for a package that will allow us to
create labels with consecutive numbers.  I'm sure I could throw
together a FileMaker database, but a retail solution would be
