.mac trashed my web site31 Jan 2005 22:04 GMT6
I've had a website somewere for many years.  Put it out there, forget
about it.  Now it's on .mac.  I redesigned it completely with
Contribute 3 through late December and January.  It worked beautifully,
and I visited it on occasion to make sure all was well in every
Duplicates in Addrezss Book31 Jan 2005 21:37 GMT1
Is there a way to get rid of them in one fell swoop?

Safari:  "Too Many Redirects"31 Jan 2005 17:06 GMT4
I've noticed something curious when I try to poke around in
   http://groups.yahoo.com/group/AustinXueZhongWen/files/
with Safari (you folks may not be able to access these pages, since,
presumably, you need to be subscribed to this particular Yahoo group):
iPhoto proof sheets -- a workaround31 Jan 2005 16:15 GMT1
I have a problem printing proof sheets from iPhoto to my Canon i9100.
Thanks to Dave Hinz, who provided some suggestions, I have a solution.
No, I can't send proof output from iPhoto to my printer, even scaled to
90%.  However, I can send it to Preview.  Then I can print from ...
Groupwise/Mail ?31 Jan 2005 14:42 GMT2
School is running Novell Groupwise for email. I am running a G3 iMac
with 10.2.8 (one of the few remaining Macs) and using MacMail. When the
switch to Groupwise was first made, I had no problems with Mail. Now I
am only able to send within the network. I can not send out to the
Converting .3gp files to .amr for Mastertones31 Jan 2005 13:44 GMT3
Quicktime 6.5 supports the conversion of audio files to 3GPP format.
Unfortunitly mobile phones want to have the .amr (AMB compession) files
to be used in a Mastertone.
I am told that this may be possible via a text edit or other utility.
On the subject of old games: Lunatic Fringe31 Jan 2005 06:43 GMT4
The most fun I ever had with a computer game (even better than Crystal
Quest) was the After Dark  module "Lunatic Fringe". Is there any place
to get this now? Any way to play it on a Mac running OS X? I have a rule
that I don't run classic if there is any way to avoid it, but ...
not all mp3s play with quicktime plugin in Firefox (OSX)31 Jan 2005 05:05 GMT2
Clicking on a certain mp3 file brings up a QuickTime plugin window
(within my Firefox window), but another mp3, on a different page, brings
up a popup asking me what application I'd like to open the mp3 in? Both
files have the same file type (MPG3) and creator (SJAM). When I look ...
SoundCheck introduces distortion31 Jan 2005 04:52 GMT1
I am in the process of transferring my CD collection to iTunes, using
AAC encoding. On one CD I was surprised that several tracks had severe
distortion and lowered my ratings on those, thinking the problem was in
the recording -- though the recording was recent enough that that
split window in Preview31 Jan 2005 01:42 GMT2
I would like to view two parts of a PDF document at the same time. To
be precise, I am looking a patent in PDF form and would like to
simultaneously view a figures and its description -- which are on
different pages. MS Word can do this with a "split window" but all my
iTunes and OS9?31 Jan 2005 01:03 GMT2
Does OS9 iTunes 2.0.4 work at all these days?  No choice to connect to
the Music Store shows up on mine, nor will it add recently purchased
music  via the "Add to Library."  (I have a dedicated Panther iBook
around also.)  It will only add old MP3's of mine.
Removing or hiding unused apps?31 Jan 2005 00:20 GMT12
I'd like to remove, or at least hide, a lot of the apps in the
Applications folder that I'll never use, including some that came with
the system (iChat, iPhoto, Mail, etc).  Objective is just to have a
cleaner, less cluttered Applications folder.
transferring iMovie projects between Macs30 Jan 2005 21:53 GMT1
If I want to transfer an iMovie project from one Mac to another, can I
just copy across the .proj file? Will this work between iMovie 5.01 and
earlier iMovie versions?

how to force maximized windows as default?30 Jan 2005 19:20 GMT1
Everytime I start a program, I find myself moving
the window it creates and then resizing it, because
my preference is to have all my apps use the maximum
space available, but in the OS/X scheme of things,
