I'm using Excel 2004 in Mac OS X Tiger. I use dates in dd/mm/yy
format, and that's how it is set in my international preferences panel
and how i formated the Excel column.
but then i type, say, 4/11/07 (to enter the date 4th nov 07) and excel

I am using Mac Office 2008 and Leopard on a brand new 24-inch iMac. Using old Excel '04 documents in Excel '08, have noticed that calculations and saves take much longer than they did in '04/Tiger. I thought the '08 program would be lightning fast, so I am disappointed in this aspect.

Anyone know why that option is grayed out on my new version of excel?

I would like to print my excel work sheet with both the verticle and horizontal lines. Is this possible?

Is there a way to do it in WORD format?

I just noticed that my Office 2004 for MAC running on an Intel MacPro OSX 10.
4.10 is showing bogus dates note the year 2011.  Is this a known bug... and

I have a spreadsheet which I originally developed in Excel 2004. Recently
I've been sharing it between XL 2004 and 2007 (in XP) and it works just fine.
Xl 2008 will eventually open it but it takes 4 or 5 minutes. And then
changing cell values results in the application hanging.

Any way to make a cell in a sheet the check box like I see in templates?

Does the MS Office Applescript dictionary have objects for querying a
database?

I have been using the new Excel for about a week, and have had it crash on me several times, or "quit unexpectedly" as we say these days. It seems to happen immediately after an autosave. When I say several times, I mean 4 times in the last two hours, and about that many times again

Two problems: It used to be that Excel would automatically close a blank workbook when opening a document and, it used to be that Excel would not open a blank workbook when it was unhidden. Excel 08 will not close a blank workbook when opening a document and opens a blank workbook

The workbook file in startup items, the one without the .xls that makes new
workbooks defaults to a workbook with 3 sheets. I tried, but can't get rid
of sheet, ie, I've opened the file, deleted sheets, saved to desktop, and
replaced the three sheet file, to no avail. Any ideas? ...

Hi, I have a very strange problem. Whenever I open a NEW file on Excel 2004
and use the keyboard, it crushes. This only happens on Excel. It doesn't
happen in an existing file, where I can use the keyboard perfectly well. Also,
this doesn't happen in a new file when I use the mouse ...

I could not use the arrow keys on my keyboard to move a cell to left, right, up and down.

Key board is working fine for other applications.
