I am using MAC 10.4.9 and my Microsoft Office 2004 Updates are all complete.

It seems that if a sheet has been "protected" I can not
format (fill with color) even a cell that is not protected.
What is the solution for this?
I need to be able to format unprotected cells, rows and also columns.  But How?

I was just wondering if anyone could help me with this spreadsheet
that I am trying to use to access stock information.
The spreadsheet accesses/grabs the info from msn Money and then pulls
it into the spreadsheet once you type in the "ticker symbol" into the

Whenever I startup Excel,  I get an old doc as the startup doc and can't

Hi, Using xl 2004 version 11.3.5
Problem is after setting Scroll Area to my database size can no longer
select columns or rows or edit outside the scroll area. Is this normal. Have
a rather large database and was tired of scrolling into empty space.

I am trying to merge an excel worksheet to Word, but when I merge the
information, such as dollar amounts, i.e. 103,801,186, I lose the commas and
I have to go into each merge letter in Word and insert the commas.  Or if I'm
using a % amount, it shows up on Word as a long decimal ...

When I try to access Excel i get the following error:

combo box toggles between yes/no to control the input on a given row.  There

Is there a way to take an entire formatted section of excel (grouped and
coloured etc) and paste it below with the click of a button?
