I need Worksheet 2 to bring in all instances of "- Dave"
I have used VLOOKUP but I am not sure how to do this one.

for opening text files the proper syntax for this command is
myName = Application.GetOpenFileName("TEXT")
If I want to do the same thing for Excel files the Help system seems to say

I am trying to do a somewhat complicated search of cells that contain
text.  The cells often contain several sentences of text.  (The
sentences have the standard period at the end each.)  I would like to
do a search where I look for combinations of words (for example, the

I have an excel sheet exported from another program.
The cell formats are not number, but I need number format for working with
it. I had tried to change the cell formats, but I could not do it.
I do not know the reason because there are numbers in the cells but nothing

I did a paste special from worksheet 1 to worksheet 4.
I want worksheet 4 to look at the job name column (A) and show one of
each unique name.  There will be lots of duplicates so I want the
newest copy of each unique name as defined by my date column (B)

I have two worksheets linked by paste special and the source
information is colored text.
The text follows the link fine, but the color is lost.  How do I make
that color follow the link?

This seems like Day 1 of Excel-type stuff, but I have my titles in Row
1 and I want that to lock so when I scroll, those titles stay put.
Please tell me the obvious.

I have lost the uppermost toolbar in Excel. I have the latest MAC
version of Excel as part of Microsoft Office.  It is Menu toolbar that
shoud appear to the right of the Apple and Excel.  The menu bar should

I have been experiencing a problem with Excel everytime I try to open a
file. Whenever I double-click on an Excel document the application begins to
load and when the document would be about to open an error message is

I have a workbook I am working on for work.  I have to select everything and
then deselect ONLY the first row.  Is there anyway I can do this in Excel.  
I have to select everything 1.) because I am trying to macro most of the
work, and 2.) row one contains only headers I don't ...
