I have found a few articles that ex-plain adequately the reason why
vertically oriented text does not display across Mac and PC platforms,
but there still seems to be some anomalies.
If I put vertical text into a Y axis label from a Mac it displays

is is possible to import a word table into an excel document and have
formatted the same way without copying and pasting the individual
cells????? And, having it retain all information in each cell with out
rebraking each line into a new cell???

There is a problem with summation of formulaic columns in Excel 2004.
Scenario:  In my spreadsheet, I have two manually entered columns, one
a NUMBER - 4 decimal places, the second a NUMBER - 2 decimal places.

I tried several times to select group of cells below D1 and then do a paste
in, went ok, but why always getting that dark thick bottom border?

Can I determine that in all new documents by default in grouped columns
or rows the main row oder column is the above or the left row or column
but not the beneath row or the right column?

Hello all, just a quick question here.  I use excel quite often and
have never had this problem:  I do payroll and bills/expenses on excel,
and I've noticed that in my totals column, sometimes only a series of
number signs show up rather than the total that is supposed to.  even

I am aware that it probably sounds dumb, but I'm quite new to Mac world
(I am still wondering why I did not move from Windows before) and,
although I am suppossed to be a skilled user of Excel, I seem to be
stupid enough to be stalled with this tiny problem.

I have a client who has sent me an excel spreadsheet as both a
tab-delimited text file and .xls file. It seems that a particular
column, the "description" column, has been truncated to 255 characters.
This is seen in both the xls file as well as the tab-delimited text

Imagine a given table, each row contains the cells A to F and the cell
G. Cell G should contain a formula/macro (don't know exactly) that gives
a timestamp of the most current change of the contents/inputs in cells A

I have a spreadsheet that contains merged cells.  I can't un-merge the
cells because this sheet is a form that is used by others.
I can't get the concantenate formula to work in a merged cell.  For
instance, with

IN times of crisis I would be able to copy this while workbook book and
paste in into a fresh clean workbook.
Wont work anymore. Excel freezes up, beachball comes up and does not come
down.
