Filling columns in Excel13 Sep 2006 01:38 GMT2
I am having to manipulate large data streams, thousands of cells, and
need to be able to fill a column without using the fill handle, as it
takes just too long.
Anyone have an idea?
This is unexpected13 Sep 2006 00:37 GMT4
In this formula,    =IF(I20=14.58,"C","R")
I20 is 14.58 (actually 14.5799999) yet "R" is returned.  Clicking the equal
sign when the formula is displayed, the dialogue box says that  indeed it is
false.  Apparently it's not close enough to 14.58.

Deleting phantom macros10 Sep 2006 21:22 GMT1
When opening up an excel file I get the dialogue box asking me if I
want to enable or disable macros. However, when looking in
tools->macros, there are no macros present.  Is there somewhere else I
can look for "phantom" macros, like there are with phantom links.  I
How to Maximize an Excel window and set it as preference in Office X10 Sep 2006 21:14 GMT19
I'm using the early version of Excel (Office X for Mac)
Is it possible to "set preferences" for the Excel window in Ofice X so
that it remembers (when opening files or "new from template')  the

Special characters10 Sep 2006 13:36 GMT13
We collect data from a form available on the Internet. This form stores the
submitted data into a .csv file. When we open this file with Excel (Excel
2004 v. 11.1 for Mac) the European special characters shows as different
symbols. The characters display nicely in the .csv file ...
HELP, macro works at work not at home on save as Mac Text10 Sep 2006 01:52 GMT1
I took my spreadsheet home over the weekend to finish it for work on Monday.
At work I can run this macro without problem.  It doesn't like saving as a
text file.  The history of this problem is without both saves it saves the
original and turns it into a text file.

I'm trying to use excel to spell out color words for my class so I can

Can't save Mac Excel to usable tab-delimited text file08 Sep 2006 22:52 GMT2
I need to do what I would think is a simple thing: save a Mac Excel
file (Office 2004 version 11.2.5 using OSX 10.3.9) to a tab-delimited
text file [TDTF] (to import into Final Cut Pro).  (1) My default Excel
file has three sheets. If I try to save this as a TDTF, it tells me
Hyperlink08 Sep 2006 19:09 GMT1
I am a weather hobbyist using excel, and find it very useful, and more time
