Keyboard Shortcuts22 Jul 2006 16:30 GMT5
At work (Windows Excel) I prefer to use keyboard shortcuts for most
things.  However, at home, the shortcuts detailed in mac:excel Help
don't include many of those I use the most.
For example, in Windows Excel I use the following:
Learning VBA 21 Jul 2006 20:18 GMT18
I'm thinking about taking the dive to learn some basic VBA for Excel so I
don't need to pepper this board with questions.
Can anyone suggest a solid resource for someone starting from ZERO to learn
the basics of VBA?
Custom data form21 Jul 2006 02:25 GMT6
I am trying to manage a list.
I know that Excel has a built-in "Data Form" command that will do most
of what I want; well, more or less. But some of my fields are small
(like ID number which is a simple integer), while others are much
Excel files opening in SPSS20 Jul 2006 04:40 GMT2
recently whenever I am sent an excel file as an attachment it opens as
a spreadsheet in SPSS (which is a statistical program). This started
about a month ago. If I save the attachment without opening it (I use
Mail), then I can open it in Excel. however, it is annoying having to
Reprogram Fn key to act like PC Ctrl Key19 Jul 2006 21:40 GMT2
I've been using Excel and Word for Windows for years and have recently
become a proud Mac household (but still use PCs at the office) with a

Is there a way to reprogram my "Fn" key to act like a Windows "Cntrl"

Clear Hyperlink cache19 Jul 2006 18:11 GMT2
I just went to insert a hyperlink in an Excel document (though the
exact same thing happens in Word, so it must be a shared Office file
I'm dealing with).
Anyway, at the top of the dialog box, there is the field "Link to:"
Web Query in Excel for Mac19 Jul 2006 13:20 GMT3
With Excel in PC, it is very easy to create web querries by pasting a
URL and selecting different tables with the check boxes.  Does anyone
know how to do this in Mac?  Also the PC allows for different options
for data format, most importantly for my purpose is the disable date
Duh.  Closed a file without saving.19 Jul 2006 13:14 GMT4
I spent all morning working on a macro, then closed the workbook
"Untitled.xls" that contained it.
I know that Excel automatically saves recovery files while you work.
What hope is there of searching hidden folders for the temporary file

get XL for Mac to look like XL for windows18 Jul 2006 12:52 GMT2
I just converted to MAC, and am having second thoughts.
I use Excel, a lot, and have the Windows shortcuts hardwired into my
brain. The Mac has a whole slew of different short cuts, and it doesn't
help that they've flipped the alt and "command key" around.

Hi, a couple of days ago I made an inquiry for help. Apparently, not to many
people are facing the problem I am.
The problem is with the syntaxis of the getpivotdata in excel for windows
and excel for mac. In excel for mac it lacks arguments and thus, whenever I

I have just connected my Mac OS X 10.4.7 running Excel for Mac in my
office on the 2nd floor  to my PC XP in the basement, using MS Excel. I

can be opened  on the Mac. I can't edit or send Excel from the Mac to

How do you insert a carriage return / line feed into a cell?  I have some

Thanks.
