Can someone please tell me how to use the sum function to add values in cell that have text in them as well? i know excel for pcs have the option of SUM and SUMA, how do I add just the numbers and ignore the text?

Hi Buddy, I cannot set Excel 2004 as default application for xlt files. If I hightlight one xlt file and click Get Info, Excel 2004 is gray out in the application list. However, other Office 2004 applications can be selected.

I¹m trying to run a Windows originated Excel spreadsheet with visual basic embedded commands on Office 2004. The Mactopia website offers a vba converter for Office 2004, but only downloads the one for Office X which will not install.

I am trying to get excel 2004 to recognise my dates in the dd/mm/yyyy format. i have changed the settings in the preferences on the system to reflect this yet excel still instits on formating dates mm/dd/yyy. can any one tell me how to fix this?

I have monthly data in columns from 1990 to 2005. I also have an annual column which shows the total of 12-months data as summary. I grouped them through (Data>Group and Outline>Group) so that I can observe only annual values by collapsing the monthly numbers with (+).

I have used the SUBTOTAL command to insert subtotals in rows wherever a particular variable breaks. Now I'd like to create a table containing only the subtotals, which will eventually move to Word. As it happens, before it moves to Word, I might want to transpose it.
