Prompt for a directory name in MAC Excel VBA05 Jan 2006 03:45 GMT2
Using Excel VBA on the Mac, I need to prompt the user for a directory
(not a file).
I have tried bits of code from the Excel help files, but they simply
don't work.  e.g.
Weird Workbook Disappearance Behavior04 Jan 2006 23:24 GMT1
After entering or editing an equation in a worksheet cell, the entire
workbook disappears as soon as I click or arrow over to another cell. What
is extremely odd about the behavior is that the sheet does not reduce down
to the dock, it just goes away.
Annoying formula bar04 Jan 2006 18:45 GMT4
I've been using Excel X for quite some time. All of a sudden, without
my making any changes to anything, the formula bar is acting in an
extremely annoying way: instead of sitting flush below the standard
toolbar, it's about a quarter-inch farther down. And spreadsheets that

Simple One03 Jan 2006 17:28 GMT3
I've stumbled my way through most of the conversion pain in going from
a PC Excel user to a Mac user (the pain has been minor I must admit).
One thing that is very trivial is one that I haven't been able to solve
myself. The active cell is highlighted with a light blue border, and ...
Different auto filter question03 Jan 2006 16:19 GMT2
I have a huge spreadsheet with auto filters on each of the columns.  On
clicking the auto filter arrows, the list of entries appears as it
should, with view all, custom filter, etc. at the top of the list.  Now
the problem.  Some of the data entries are very long.  This causes the
Display Hyperlinks - Just want plain text02 Jan 2006 20:23 GMT1
I've spent over two hours trying to figure out how NOT to display hyperlinks
when I type any part of/or hyperlink.  I can change the list to Normal text,
but then if I modify a partial hyperlink, there goes the underline and
Entourage tries to open.  Same with web addresses.
Unexpected behavior with scroll bar control02 Jan 2006 17:48 GMT4
We have a number of spreadsheets that use the scroll bar control to
change numbers used by formulas, graphs, etc.
On Excel 2001 (v.x) and XP, they work as expected; when you slide the
scrollbar, the scrollbar slides in real-time (and the numbers, graph,
Disappointments About Excel for MAC02 Jan 2006 15:41 GMT2
Some of the features that are entrenched in the Windows version of
Excel were left off when Microsoft developed Office 2004 for MAC.  F4
was the default shortcut key to make give a cell reference absolute
properties.  From reading the Help in Excel 2004 for MAC, it sounds
Can't open file from PC02 Jan 2006 09:54 GMT1
A friend with a PC has sent me a file (called 'Perfect') that my machine
(running OS 10.4.3) sees as an Excel file. When I open it in Excel X, I get
a spreadsheet with 3 sheets. Sheets 2 & 3 have no entries. The first sheet
(where I assume all the action is), is scrolled all the way ...
