While I'm fairly confident with Word and Entourage, I don't know much about
Excel, or at least not enough to solve the problem I've just been confronted
with. Here's the situation: I have an Excel file with a series of sheets,
each sheet containing my students' grades for one ...

I would like to create a hyperlink that refers to a specific cell in
the local document using VBA. I have Googled intensively and read
through all entries in the help file that seemed relevant, but I was
unable to locate how I would go about doing something like that.

If you open Excel 2004 worksheet and copy it, then open PPT 20004 and
paste it, only the top left corner appears.
