getting rid of green triangles07 Jun 2005 06:17 GMT1
Since I had such positive responses to my last question, I have another
one. One column in the large file is for 'years'. But I don't want them
as numbers because some years have letters with them and when I sort
the column I want these sorted in with the other years. The column
Inserting symbols in axis titles07 Jun 2005 05:25 GMT2
Can anyone tell me how to put symbols into the axis captions on Excel
charts in Mac v.X? On a PC, I can draw a text box, then pull down the
"Insert" menu and access the symbols there. This option does not seem
to be available in v.X. I need to insert various lower-case Greek
Addition error!?!06 Jun 2005 21:06 GMT1

problem with s simple SUM function. This is a little convoluted but I
appreciate you bearing with me while I weave my tale of woe:
Strange PC apostophe in formula preventing Mac spreadsheet from sorting06 Jun 2005 18:28 GMT2
I have downloaded data in Excel format from a PC server onto my Mac OS
X 10.3.9.  I have Excel 2001.  The data in the formula bar of every
cell starts with an apostrophe ( ' ) before the text or numerals.  I'm
trying to sort but the sort function seems to think the apostrophe is
Pie chart resizing06 Jun 2005 15:15 GMT3
Is there a way of making a series of pie charts exactly the same size not
only in the chart area but also making the pie itself the same size and in
the same position within the chart area?
If so, how can I do this? The setting will have to be done after the pies

I'm using Mac Excel 2004 fully updated.
I've constructed a list of 50+ names, addresses, etc., and have
successfully copied data from my web browser to a cell. I was not using
the List Manager. I saved and closed the file. When I re-opened it and

Tool bars hide spreadsheet - pulling hair out03 Jun 2005 02:34 GMT3
Whenever I open spreadsheets, the top part is often hidden under the various
toolbars.  The only way to get to the top part of the sheet is to grab the
toolbars and pull them out of the way. I do this enough with the clutter on
my real desk and really don't need such idiocy on my ...
Excel X won't print specific sheet02 Jun 2005 23:45 GMT1
I can't figure this out:
I have a small workbook with three sheets: Sheet 1 previews and prints fine,
either Portrait or Landscape. Sheet 3 is blank.
Sheet 2 won't print anything at all. It has 8 columns and 55 rows filled and
Still unable to sort02 Jun 2005 18:46 GMT2
I am still unable to sort my Excel file of 8855 rows because I get a
message saying I have merged cells. I followed the advice of previous
group members and went to the format menu to see if I had inadvertently
checked the 'merge cell box'. I hadn't. This is very frustrating. I can

I went from Tiger back to Panther on my G4-500. Because Panther wouldn't

Anyway I opened Excel after all the getting everything back to normal
