| Metrowerks Announcement? | 13 Jun 2005 19:32 GMT | 4 |
We were told that there would be a big announcement about CodeWarrior 10 during the week of WWDC. Well, here we are on the last day, and I haven't seen any announcement yet. I went to Metrowerks' web site to check, just in case I missed it, and there was a press release on

| CodeWarrior 10, WWDC, & How to Win Back Mac Developers | 11 Jun 2005 19:33 GMT | 54 |
With Apple's Worldwide Developer Conference coming up next week, Metrowerks' plans for CodeWarrior 10 is at a Do-or-Die moment. After snubbing Mac developers at last year's WWDC, widespread defection has taken place with the Mac community embracing Xcode. Assuming it isn't

| Windows License | 11 Jun 2005 01:22 GMT | 4 |
While this newsgroup is still alive, I might as well post my question here. I have been trying unsuccessfully to install CW9 on a PC. CW 9, laucches, complains about the expired/invalid license, and then quits on me without giving me a chance to enter my code. I have mailed ...

| So what's the status of PowerPlant source now? | 10 Jun 2005 16:28 GMT | 11 |
I've got a fair number of shipping products that are based on PowerPlant, and at least some of them people are probably going to want updated for OS X86. I'm sure there's at least some other people here in the same boat. Legally speaking, can we feel free to rip the PowerPlant ...

| Link error after switching to XCode 2.1 | 10 Jun 2005 10:50 GMT | 3 |
On Tuesday, I finally decided to get over with it and switch from CW9 to XCode. Now I am at the point where everything compiles fine, but the linker complains about the following symbols being undefined: std::__default_alloc_template<true, 0>::deallocate(void*, unsigned

| Out of the ashes (a Modest Proposal for Apple) | 10 Jun 2005 10:40 GMT | 17 |
How about a commitment from Apple that, in the event that they can no longer maintain / extend the MacOS codebase, it will all be GPL-ed? - Steve wants us to invest in his little project. He needs to risk something too (they won't repo his Gulfstream or fire him from Pixar if

| CodeWarrior 9 for Windows Available here | 09 Jun 2005 21:22 GMT | 2 |
I did a quick Froogle search and found that CodeWarrior 9 for Windows is still available (for those still inetrested) at a couple of places. I mention it here since I know that there are probably very few sources left for those individuals:

| Library problems with CW 9.5 and tiger | 09 Jun 2005 20:59 GMT | 1 |
I am going from CW 9.4 panther to CW 9.5 Tiger and can't seem to find the libraries that solve the following link errors. Link Error : undefined: 'std::__add_facet(const std::locale&,unsigned long, void*,const std::locale::facet*&)' (code)

| Running CW Java app launches BBEdit | 09 Jun 2005 20:35 GMT | 2 |
I don't know what changed, but suddenly any attempt to run a Java app from inside CW, instead of launching Terminal and outputting the command line stuff there, instead launches BBEdit and dumps the command line info in the new BBEdit window.

| Mach-O and typeid | 09 Jun 2005 20:33 GMT | 1 |
When compiling for Mach-O with CW 9.5, I get errors like this: #include <Carbon/Carbon.h> #include <typeinfo> int main()

| Errors after converting CW8.3 Mach-O project to CW9.5 | 08 Jun 2005 23:48 GMT | 3 |
After converting a Mach-O project from CW8.3 to CW9.5 I get the following errors: // Error 1: Error : undefined identifier 'NSIG'

| Thanks to MW | 08 Jun 2005 18:06 GMT | 2 |
Although maybe we'll see otherwise, it does seem like CW's future is pretty bleak. I've been using CW since CW 9 ( before Pro 1 ) and have used or bought most versions since. At the moment I'm using CW 8.3, which seems to work fine for CFM on Tiger, and I'm pretty glad I didn't

| Did sale of x86 compiler have anything to do with Apple x86 decision? | 08 Jun 2005 14:10 GMT | 3 |
Was the sale of Metrowerks x86 compiler technology related to the fact that Apple chose to go with the Intel architecture? By the way, who purchased it?

| Eclipse as alternative IDE | 07 Jun 2005 23:19 GMT | 1 |
I've been using Eclipse for a while for Python and prefer it to XCode. Has anyone tried the C++ tools? http://www.eclipse.org/cdt/ The FAQ says

| Shooting Themselves in the Head | 07 Jun 2005 23:05 GMT | 5 |
Before this year, an announcement like this would have been great for Metrowerks, since they had always had both the PPC and x86 compilers. In fact, it's hard to imagine a better company to be in position for this than Metrowerks itself, having had both back-end compilers!
