AFAIK, unless you've protected the document, you should be able to click
on the title and edited it.
Check the Tools menu - do you have an "Unprotect Document..." item?

If you've switched to Print Layout view or Publishing Layout view your
"titles" are being treated as Headers and are in a different "layer" than
the regular text.
If you're in Print Layout, dbl-click the Header, then edit the text,
Dbl-click in the body or use the Header's Close button when done.
If in Publishing Layout view click the Master Pages tab (lower right corner
of the document window) edit your Header, then click the All Contents tab to
go back to the page content.
