Hi,

In Normal View, I see two kinds of ordinary page breaks.  One has the words
'Page Break' in the middle of the window with the dotted lines running
equally on each side of the words, and all the way to the side of the
window.

The other kind in Normal View is shifted to the right.  The words "Page
Break" are placed as though in the center of the right colume of a three
colume page.  The dotted line on the right of "Page Break"  runs and ends at
the right side of the window.  The dotted line on the left ends in the
middle of the window.

What is the difference between these two formats of 'Page Break'?

Thanks

I suspect that the only difference is the formatting of the
(following?) paragraph: whether it is left, centre or right justified.

You're right.  In my 330 pg MS, the page breaks are the breaks between
chapters.  The chapter titles are center aligned.  I found that from the
last word of a chapter, through the following page break and through the
chapter title, down to the first line of the next chapter,  I've gotten
various formats, left, right etc.  The appearance in Page Layout is right,
and it would print right, it's just a little mixed up in the formatting,
which shows up in Normal View.  The only thing I don't understand now is why
Align Right doesn¹t show any ³Page Break² dotted lines and words.  Here's
what shows up in my word doc, in normal view:
‹Align Center shows the shorter page break formatting line on the right
‹Align Right doesn¹t show any ³Page Break² dotted lines and words.
‹Align Left shows the full side to side dotted line with ³Page Break² in the
   center
‹Justify shows the full side to side dotted line with ³Page Break² in the
       center

Thanks, Rafael
