Version: 2008
Operating System: Mac OS X 10.5 (Leopard)
Processor: intel

I have searched through the help file, and cannot find anything that resembles how to delete these files. So I am seeking some help to do this. After a while the file gets too big and confusing. Any help would be more than welcome. Thanks

Hi Doug -

Can you clarify the issue? Basically a template *is* a file that's used to
generate new document files & there's no reason for them to "gets too big
and confusing" - what exactly do you need to do?

To Bob Jones:
All I want to is delete a remplate I created, do not want it any more. I want redesign, and want to get rid of the old one. As others have said, there is no reference in the help index that provides instruction for doing so. You can't grag it to the trash, you can't hightlight it an press delete, and I think there was a reference to a pressing command and then delete. None of which worked. So the question remains, how?
Thanks

Sorry, I didn't proof read ,y last post very well, but in short what instructions can you provide that will help delete unwanted templates. There, that is better.

The Mac OS does not permit deleting files from within an application's Open
or Save As dialogs, & that's what it sounds like you're trying to do.
Navigate to the folder where the template is stored using Finder & you'll be
able to delete the template.

This is actually done by the Mac system this way as a means for you not
to do stupid things hastily.

Suppose you just got through putting the finishing touches on 500 page
document you've worked on for 6 months.

Say you then decide after you close you want to do a little file cleanup
on your computer before you shut down . Okay in widows in application
you can delete files in your haste you delete that critical document.

And if you do like you should do to keep your hard drive space as low as
possible before shutting down you empty the recycle bin.

You open up the next day find you baby is gone and if your own higher
than the first floor you open the window and attempt to do a swan dive
on the pavement below. on first flow you take out you knife and slit
your throat.

Now on a Mac the only way you can throw away files you have to
consciously go looking for the files to throw away. This gives you time
to think about what your doing. So its saves you from yourself.
