This is a variation on a question I asked before.
In almost every program I use the Home and End key takes youto the start
of the first page or the end of the last page.
In Word you have to use a modifier key. Is it possible to assign the
commands to the Home and End key *without* the modifier?
In theory it should be. Just Customize Keyboard and assign the
command(s) to the key(s). But either the commands aren't ther or else
they are and I just don't know what their names are.
This is not a huge problem, butit would be more convenient for all my
frequently used programs to work the same way.
Can it be done?

Not sure what programs you use but End & Home have traditionally taken the
insertion point to the end/beginning of a line in text-based program, to the
beginning/end of a row in a spreadsheet & Command+Home/End to the
beginning/end of the document... It's only iWork apps in which Apple seems
to have decided to go against the convention:-)
Be that as it may, Yes, you can reassign almost anything you want. In this
case you'll need the All Commands category - specifically the EndOfDocument
& StartOfDocument commands. I'd recommend you remove the assignment of the
desired strokes from the EndOfLine & StartOfLine commands first.
