My correspondent has a PC with a 2002 version of MS Office. She is
unable to open MS Word files I email from my Mac OS 10.4.10 and MS
Office X, with MS Word 10.1.7. I have no problem opening her Word
files. As a test, I did a Reply on one of her emails with a Word
attachment and sent it back to her. She was able to open it. I did the
same thing after opening the Word file, then closing it without saving
and sent it back. She could not open it. Thus, the reformatting done
by Word in my Mac created a Word file that she could not translate on
her PC. What's she missing; a converter of some kind that didn't come
with her version of MS Office? What can she do to resolve the problem?
BTW, we exchange text files now in rtf format, but that's a pain for
me.

Thanks,

Richard

See one reply at your previous post.

Please don't post the same message multiple times - it only tends to
fragment any answers you get, and potentially wastes the time of those
replying to questions that have already been answered.

If the reply wasn't helpful, reply to *that* message with an explanation
of why it didn't work for you...
