Listers,

Both my Cox POP account and my .mac IMAP account send out on the same SMTP
port #25.  Cox overrides (?) .mac, and I cannot send from the latter.  How
do I fix this?  Is there another port besides #25 that I can use to send
from Apple?

And this is related to Microsoft Word exactly HOW??  :-)

ISPs are doing a whole lot of strange and desperate things to try to dam the
deluge of spam choking their networks.

Port 25 is actually the "old" port for SMTP.  The new one is 587, and that's
the one they recommend:

Don't worry about it: at least the question was coherent -- that's an
advance on some of our usual fare :-)
