to be honest, word for mac has been the most frustrating thing since i
switched to mac.  itʻs almost as if the simplest things are
deliberately rigged by windows programmers to thumb their noses at
apple users....

anyhoo, maybe someone out there can assist me with the latest annoying
snafu?

when i am writing i need to write fluidly.  but word changes my font
and type any time i type an apostrophe.  similar things happen doing
other minor errands but i CAUGHT this one.

it changes times new roman to monaco of a larger type.  i can not seem
to change it back.  someone else in 2004 posted that they enter a semi-
colon instead of an apostophe to make word autocorrect appropriately,
but my version for whatever reason does not make this automatic
adjustment; the semi-colon stays.

yes, i downloaded and installed the most recent update today, and itʻs
still happening.  what gives?  can anyone help?  thanks in advance!!!

i hope that i can find and attack all these bugs within this program
soon.  my writing is suffering lately; i donʻt take distraction well!
otherwise i will have to see what other programs to begin looking
into....  hassle.

What version of Word and OS?

What if you uncheck most of the boxes under Tools | AutoCorrect |
AutoFormat As You Type? Does telling Word not to apply smart quotes
solve the problem?

What font are you typing in, and what is the language setting?
